A ~15% chance to jam every 20 seconds seems more than worth it to me, since it essentially equates to a 15% chance to instantly win a fight. (Solo to small gang assumed) If you can't win a 1v1 with 20 free seconds to shoot without getting shot back, your doing it wrong. Ships I see no reason not to slap an ECM on: Vexor Myrmidon Armor Hurricane Brutix Harbinger Drake etc., etc. - Any armor tanked ship with 4+ mids or high tracking/non tracking-dependent ship with 3 mids, any shield ship with 5+ mids /shrug

Not even 1 cycle.... Chance based....

PVP fit ships don't have a "spare slot" for ECM as the jamming chance is so low you're much better off with something else. Only if used in massive blobs can it be sortof useful and even then it's more a case of not having any better options. If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right.

The only remotely good use I've seen out of specialized ships was in a 50 men fleet where everyone had one or two racial jammers. It did not make a great difference over using ECM drones however.
