I tell you, I enjoying farming in games. The thought hit me, why not hydropnic labs in EVE, or something? I would like to read your thoughts and suggestions on this subject.
Thank you for your time. |

Ok, more things to do in the game would be good. But what would be the product that the farm produces? what is that product needed for? would there be a supply/demand for it? Is it something that new players can get into, or only old players? What skills would it require?
If you detail the idea a bit more, we may get a better picture of how it would fit into the game. But yeah, new careers in the game would be great if they fit into the universe.

I can not answer your questions. I was hoping to spark some ideas and imagination in other players to offer suggestions on what could be added to the game in order to make hydroponics something that could be as viable as mining.
To create a true empire you must provide for the needs of the populace. NPC empires provide food, water, medicine, et cetera for their populations because this stuff in available on the market. I assume this stuff is needed on the planetary scale and for stations.
Maybe something on the level of a planetary sovereignty, you have to provide food, water, et cetera to the population on the planet to keep it under control and gain whatever benefit from it. Also, perhaps, you have to provide this for your player owned stations. I presume these have personnel living on them and running them.

The only thing I could think you would use this for is to supply stations with food or something. Add a fuel type. I dunno. Like the previous poster said. more is good but You kinda need to start somewhere.
It would be hard to introduce a new system that would require existing structures to use a new fuel type. --------------------------------------------------- Have Rail's. Will travel.

I'm pretty sure IAC would fully endorse this.

That is where I would see something like this to be implemented. Perhaps as a means of maintaining certain populations on a given world/system.
EDIT: spelling/grammar
