I'm trying to design a good setup for some level II (maybe III?) mission running and perhaps some pvp with a drake I just purchased.
I'm fairly new at this, and have only done level I missions so far, thus I've never really needed to put much thought into module choice.
My current setup I'm looking at is this: lows = 1 ballistic controls, 1 damage control, rest sheild power relays mids = 2 hardeners (kin) 2 large f-s9 regoliths 1 stasis webifier highs = 6 launchers at LEAST malkuth Avail power: 977.5 Avail CPU: 551.25
This leaves 1 mid and 2 highs open (I cant put more launchers because of power restraints)
Does anyone have some suggestions for improvement? Or some crucial item that I'm forgetting?

hardly matters....drake is way overkill for 2s, even for 3s really...
drop the damage control for a PDU and fit the 7th launcher
Drop the web for an invul if you can fit, and go with 2 mission-specific hardeners instead of 2 kin...like 1 kin 1 thermal, or 1 EM 1 thermal, depending who you're facing
Get a shield recharge rig soon as you can afford one, and then get 2 more. By the time you're fully fitted and skilled out it'll run L4s without blinking

Best Drake passive setup is pretty constant. Use the template below and improve with Tech 2 or named where your ISk and skills allow:
High 7 x Heavy Launchers
Med 3 x Large Shield Extender 2 x Resist Amplifiers 1 x Shield Recharger or another Resist Amplifier (PvP or mission with multi damage types)
Low 2 x Shield Power Relay 1 x BCS 1 x SPR for more tank or 1 x BCS for more DPS
Rig 3 x Core Purger
As I keep saying, don't forget your resists. You are after a great passive tank, not just a great recharge. Taking 25% less damage is better than 10% more recharge.

Edited by: Fedasane on 29/07/2007 14:32:56 That setup from leeluv looks pretty nice, but it puts me WAY over how much availible power I have, is there any huge way to increase my power output?
And can anyone tell me what PDU stands for?

Train engineering and weapon upgrade skills, and a PDU is a power diagnostic unit, but that's its old name, it's called power diagnostic system officially.

and there is that one skill that makes shield extenders use less grid...
Being a Fleet Commander and a Arbitrator pilot are the same thing - The only difference being that the Fleet Commander commands other people, and the people actually listen to him. |

I use this for levels 3's just now, and my skills aren't that great, I recommend getting everything in Engineering (apart from things like Energy Emission Systems) to level 4, and also Battlecruiser to 4. Haven't had a single problem running any level 3's in this setup.

1) Train Engineering up to V.
2) A bit harder: Get Weapon Upgrades V, which unlocks Advanced Weapon Upgrades. Normal Weapon Upgrades gets rid of CPU used by weapons, Advanced gets rid of the Power req. It takes forevvvvver but you won't regret it, every ship you fit after that will be a beast.
