I think that they take too much time to show up. You can spend roughly one hour trying to get one, and two more hours (if it is big) to finish.
While to latter two hours are fine, because you must take your time to finish of with the enemies, the first hour (or worse) makes the search for the sites somewhat discouraging...
Your opinions? -----------------------------

Imo , the low-sec sites have the real loot , so it will be tougher . But the rewards should be worth it . And it is not good to solo anything in low-sec . A friend and i found a nice radar site in 0.4 , and it was worth about 200 mil total . So you never know what you'll stumble upon . G/L

And what type of ship is needed? BC or maybe well trained t1-cruiser will be enough? Over. |

Edited by: Aarla on 29/07/2007 15:35:28 it all depend on what site you find , i was in a escalating site in 0.0 , we only made it with a 90% resist tank and a logistic ship , so much firepower was pointet at the tank.
So alway bring your A game , rest will get you killed most of the time , cause yes they can web and scamble most of the time.

Once i found a site with more bs in the same pocket (well, accidentally spawned in ) than 2 entire multipocket lvl 4 missions, so a nice t1 cruiser is somewhat poor for the low sec unknown sites, of course you can encounter the shame of all sites, but this isn't the intention while searching them

The difficulty of the sites is not what im complaining, im complaining the time spent to find them '^^ (which, usually it's too long )

The ones in 0.0 and the ones in hi-sec have similar signal strenghts to the ones in low-sec, so I don't quite know why you're singling out low-sec.

How do you go about finding these sites? Are they in roid belts or do you need to scan them down? You answers will be greatly appreciated.

you must scan for them using probes which take roughly 4 minutes (boring time) with decent skills and a covert ops ship -----------------------------

No. Same with 0.0.
Sure, I guess they afford you an extra minute or so when hostiles show up before they find you, but they only have mission level bounties and take &*^% ages to find (that's assuming the one you find isn't a bugged one that was done 3 years ago by another player).
You'll make more ratting and it's probably more entertaining (as opposed to 3 hours of staring at a 30 second counter).

I am less and less encouraged to search for the unknown sites. Yesterday I spent 2 hours searching for an unknown sig in 0.0 and I have good eploration skills + rigs. When I finally found it, it was 6/10 plex, joy I think at first. Then I go do it with buddies and what do we get? 2 true sansha passive hardners!? Did 6/10 plexes used to drop such crap when they were static as well??
I found quite some sites so far and spent countless hours searching but only one site was worth doing it so far (the one that escalated to the end, and this was only one that escalated for me).
I will try to search for few more and if I get no good rewards for time spent ill drop the exploration till somthing is changed because it is just not worth spending so much time for almost no rewards. Mision running or rat hunting is far more profitable then exploration at the moment, per time spent of course.

This is the main point of my complain -----------------------------
