I have been able to fly the Vagabond effectivly for over a year now and I am moving onto the Sleipnir as my skills progress. I am curious as to how you all fly yours in PVP. Do you nano it out and go uber fast with a set of snakes and faction mwd? Do you focus on shield tanking?
Another question, do you try to take advantage of the falloff bonus on the Sleipnir and orbit at 18km like the Vagabond, or is it too slow/manueverable? Do you fly it like a "close and in your face" type ship?

Most Sleipnir's I've seen to be Nos + closerange pwn + thick tank. I couldnt really be more specific, as I was too busy hitting the mwd to leave to take notes.

From what I've seen, most people fit it with something like
5 guns, 3 nos Large shield extender, 2 invuls, booster Gyros / PDUs For rigs, one to cover the kin hole and a cap control...

7 guns, gang speed mod faction MWD, cap booster, xl shield booster, invuln, 24k scram 2x gyro, 2x faction overdrive
2x polycarbon
Full snake set
As far as im aware, thats basically a big vagabond - I know one of my friends is aiming for that setup (or something very close to it). But most survivable sleip's are nano. If you want a tanker, get the claymore - the thing is a beast, even if it only has 5 guns... it generally outlasts its opponent rather than outguns them.
But yea, sleip is just a big vaga really, and you can fly it that way if you have the skills and cash to go in that direction... but being a vaga pilot you'll know about the lifespan of this sort of ship.

Orbit at 18k with barrage. This thing does about 2300 m/s, while still having a nice tank. Don't listen to anyone who says get up close; this ship has a falloff bonus for a reason.
EDIT: With snakes this should hit around 3500 m/s.

220mm t2 1 nos/missile launcher mwd shieldbooster lse invul capinj (cap injector to maintain the mwd and shieldboosting) lows speedmods and some gyro's
rigs mass red rig kin res rig or 2 mass red rigs
Fly it in a gang it sucks solo imo, if u have to fit a scrammer/web u will have no tank or just 8-12 k shields
with the setup above u will go over 2k sec :P
if something is fast enough to catch up with u its dead within seconds and ull be able to run from most things
just orbit and use ure falloff with barrage and pew pew

I fly mine like a Vaga on steroids. Same setup with a few more damage mods. Cap isn't an issue if you passive tank, and it'll still kill most BS solo if you orbit at a good distance. I don't like capboosters on a Sleip 'cause I often take it FAR into 0.0 because it's a good roaming ship...no cap boosters there, only savage women and blackmarket booze
