Edited by: Elipsis on 29/07/2007 21:52:25 Let me preface this by saying that the idea of giving players CONCORD ships has probably been suggested many times before, and the answer has always been (and rightfully so) "That would be completely broken."
So with that as a starting point, I was attempting to think of something that would allow players to use these ships without breaking the game. I asked the following questions, "Where does CONCORD go?" and "Who does CONCORD fire on?" We all know the answer to these questions, so lets move on.
First, the ships should not be easy to acquire. I was thinking they could only be acquired from CONCORD agents who through the LP system, and only be entrusted to players with a 9.0 or higher security status. If these conditions were achieved, the player would get the "Welcome to CONCORD." experience.
Of course, CONCORD would hold you to their standards as long as you were piloting their ship, so the use of said ship would be strictly enforced by CONCORD in the following ways:
-The ship would be equipped with a special module that would prevent it from using jump gates which would take it out of CONCORD space.
-The ship may not be used to engage in any corporate warfare. It is to be used for law enforcement only, permitted only to fire on 1. Players who have already earned the wrath of CONCORD by firing on others in high-sec 2. Players who enter high-sec with KoS status. (< -5.0 or global criminal flag) 3. NPC pirates who have no rights. (Making it a hell of a missioning ship)
I'm looking for constructive feedback on this idea. I think it would be interesting to give players access to CONCORD ships if we could avoid situations where they would have the license to slaughter dozens of players at once. -...

only reasonable thing i can see with the implantation of concord ship is this:
can be bought for the price of the normal ship type. only usable on pilots with - standing in low sec, or -5 in high sec (which concord itself will clear).(this is done so that MAYBE players would do policing in low sec as ccp intended
can not enter 0.0 space, and can not be used to rat in (since this would make it a silly overpowered mission grinding ship)

It is jump gate restricted, not freighter restricted. It can go into 0.0, as long as they don't make it so that you cant undock in 0.0 with it or something.
I still think this is a bad idea.
And you cant get 9.0 or higher concord standing... unless you mean faction?
Being a Fleet Commander and a Arbitrator pilot are the same thing - The only difference being that the Fleet Commander commands other people, and the people actually listen to him. |

I like the idea of doing policing in low sec (but only against actual outlaws with -5 or lower).
A fair point about freighters though... I didn't think about shipping them out but under my current thinking I suppose people still could... hmm... definitely would cause a problem. -...
