I understand you have to offline silos to empty them, thus the need for coupling arrays to avaiod downtime/loss of production. What I'm not been able to read from the forum is if this also apply to filling up silos with materials. What if you use silos to feed the reactor array, do you need to offline it to add more materials?

Yes, you will have to offline the siloĘs that are feeding the reactorĘs, to be able to add more material, but ones the links are set and production are running it wont matter if you offline 1 silo at a time to add/take material from it, just dont offline anything at the time of the reaction. Reaction/harvest are done ones every hour, so try and find out when that is. I donĘt know if itĘs the same for everyone(I would think it is) but my reaction happens (At the moment) at 12min past the hour. So donĘt offline anything that canĘt be online before the reaction happens, then you wonĘt suffer material lose. 2nd i only see the need of coupling arrays between Harvesters and reactors, I donĘt see why you would want Silo ū coupling ū silo, unless of cause you are lazy and donĘt want to empty silos every day, to me Silo ū coupling ū silo sounds like a waist of fuel (money)

Do I need 1 silo for each input material in a reaction? e.g. if I produce a reaction that requires 4 different materials do I need (assuming no mining):
4xSilo - one for each material 1xSilo - for final product 1x reactor - for the reaction
And do I need coupling arrays between everything? I guess that would mean 5x coupling arrays? Is this the common way of setting such a reaction tower up?
Thank you!

Edited by: Dedaf on 31/07/2007 13:14:10 No need for coupling arrays in that set up. Yes, you will need a Silo for each material The siloĘs will feed the reactor directly and the Reactor will deliver the material in the output silo.
