As i read the patchnotes i saw noses are nerfed and with them, curse and pilgrim's cap advantage is gone. And they gonna become the worst recon while they were the best.
If i understood correct, for ex. curse will nos and neutralize its target and when target's cap become worser than curse's (for ex. target cap: %45 - curse's cap: %70), curse will be unable to nos him. in fact noses will be kinda 'inactive' in this moment. but it can still run neutralizer to make target's cap go %0. but with this curse's cap will be in pain too. So nanocurses are nerfed as i can see. If I am wrong please tell me because i didnt understand any **** from that undetailed patchnote.

I think you've got that right.
You can nos someone until their cap is lower than yours. Neuts are unaffected. @º¬íí-T«+ºH for all your political humor needs |

Nice....so the ONE very good ship in the whole Amarr lineup gets blown into obscurity.
Figures although NOS did need a change.
I recall some Dev once saying that among the improvements to Amarr would be to make the the "energy" race somehow giving them an advantage in places like the NOS arena.
For many Amarr ships though this actually makes them MORE effective with NOS than other races. Since Amarr ships eat so much cap NOSing someone would likely have an effect whereas a NOS Domi would do nothing.
If they do this though then they really should increase the range on the NOS.

The evil terrorist makes a good point, you know.
And the Curse will still be able to completely screw the tracking of at least two enemy gunboats while simultaneously smashing them up with drones, so it will still be a decent ship.

I dont complain i only try to undestand my I already have 1x neut 3x nos on my ship. So I re-read the blog and started to think now if i run 2x neuts and 2x noses (or 3x neuts and 1x nos), my recharge rate will be a pain in the ass so with this i will still be able to nos the target because of my cap regen rate will be lower than the target. am I right?

I think that given the NOS changes, the Curse and Pilgrim should give the same bonuses to Neutralizer that they currently recieve for NOS. ------------ ULTIMATE LAG SOLUTION | Forum Whiners - Unite! |

"Shazzam!"
Curse is going to be just as WTFBBQ as it was before Rev2.2 but you will actually have to think after you turn those nos on.

Wow an interesting fix for Nos, and I do think it was needed. It's going to be interesting for a battleship pilot looking to use the Nos "I-Win" against a frigate/whatever smaller and not affecting the other ships cap

Then I really don't see a big problem with that...half NOS and half neutralizers, anyone? ------------ ULTIMATE LAG SOLUTION | Forum Whiners - Unite! |

People would rather whine they can't perma-run dual LAR2s on their Domis off of someone else's cap now.
Hooray for the first Gallente nerf since damage mod stacking. \o/

the whole point about nosses is that a smaller ship can sustain it's cap, not to kill the enemy's cap, so stop whining about your misuse of a mechanic have been stopped and start doing what was the point to start with.

Edited by: Christari Zuborov on 30/07/2007 17:05:00 The issue that I see in this is that while it's close to right, it's not quite logically correct.
They are using the percentage full of the cap as the measurement in potential difference, whereas it should be potential difference of the total charge.
A BB might have 1200 cap and a frigate might have 300, a NOS should run until the BBs cap drains to the same level as the frigate. All things being equal, 300 units has less potential than 1200 units, so the flow of power would be towards the frigate.
To me the better game experience, would be cap management to make sure you don't overload. If you overload the systems, you have the same experience as you would being without energy - everything shuts down.
The duration of the shutdown being equal to the length of time the NOS continues to run in addition to the time the cap expels the over abundance of energy. This gives incentive to train faster cycle rates, and we could add a new overheating skill - core meltdown :P

T2 ammo ner hit all races equaly, so no nerf. eanm hit all but caldari, very small nerf. Ecm is CALDARI ewar dammit, so was a BOOSt to gallente, since now Dampeners are the king.
