CCP Gangleri wrote:It has been a long running pet project of mine to apply some love to Mac clients running in windowed mode or with an additional monitor available on their system, unfortunately this project has now hit an insurmountable technical hurdle that seriously limits our options. As it turns out the engineering required to allow EVE to run in full screen on a second monitor is pretty crazy, so we can't do that. We also can't really query the OS for the actual resolution of the system, we always just get the main monitor.
What we can do however is query for the max resolution of the systems main monitor and then offer various windowed mode resolution options based on that.
Uhh, so this little snippit doesn't get you what you need:
Quote:#include IOKit/IOKitLib.h #include IOKit/IOTypes.h #include ApplicationServices/ApplicationServices.h
CGDisplayErr CGGetOnlineDisplayList(CGDisplayCount maxDisplays, CGDirectDisplayID * onlineDspys, CGDisplayCount * dspyCnt); static void DetectDisplays() { CGDirectDisplayID displays[8]; CGDisplayCount dspCount = 0;
if (CGGetOnlineDisplayList(8, displays, &dspCount) == noErr) { for(int i = 0; i < dspCount; i++) { io_service_t service = CGDisplayIOServicePort(displays[i]); if (service) IOServiceRequestProbe(service, kIOFBUserRequestProbe); } } }

Debir Achen wrote:I'd like slightly more than 44 pixels. If it fits flush with the bottom of the window, then any time I go for something at the bottom my dock is likely to pop up.
I moved the dock to the left side of the screen long, long ago, for this very reason!

/me goes poking around in the ESCAPE menu under the "Display & Graphics" tab looking for something unrelated, and notices the new resolutions.
Wait... 1920x1156?
It's Live! Thank you!
Now we just need to fix the framerate issue. Survivor of Teskanen. -áFan of John Rourke.

1366 x 724 didn't make it in though :P
MacBook Air 11" is 1366 x 768 resolution.
Though I do have an odd resolution of 1024 x 856. Perhaps that's one of the "portrait" modes for larger screens?

One more thingGäó
Can you add a second "tweaked" resolution?
example : 1920x1200 dual screens, Dualboxing means
1st screen with Osx menu bar + Eve's bar = 44px 2nd scren without OsX bar but only Eve's bar = 22px only.
thanks anyway for the job :)

Well, its sort of in there. If I set to 1920 x 1156 something odd happens: command-return stops working. If I want to go to full screen, I got to use the esc menu. Then it automagically changes to 1920 x 1200 and goes to full screen. Yay! Hitting command-return then puts it back to 1920 x 1156 and in a window. Again Yay! But then another command-return does nothing. The expected behavior is a return to full screen at 1920 x 1200. http://vincentoneve.wordpress.com/ |

Yeah, when you enter the new resolution windowed modes, you lose your menus. Not JUST command-return, but also command-c, command-v, command-a, etc. Only things you can still do are command-q and command-m (but minimizing means you'll have to reboot the game because you'll never get your window back). |
