As a new player without alot of skillpoints in any one type of ship I would like to know what people think is the best race to level up now (both pvp and pve) after the recent changes.
I am a bit too new to figure what the nos changes really mean....but I would like to spend my training time wisely.
Thanks

There is no "Best race".
As long as you are training skills that help do what you want to do, you are not losing anything.

you can't go wrong with basic support skills, navigation skills, and drone skills.
that being said pure PVE- nothing can beat a raven
pure PVP i would say minmatar are best now (after nerf of the nos/drone boats)
for a balance of PVP and PVE i would go gallente

Pretty simple answer really. What do you like playing, or like the looks or idea of? Amarr, Minmatar, Gallente or Caldari.
Pick one, and train it. If you choose based on what is best now, then you'll get screwed over later. Choose what you like, and you'll enjoy it whether it's really good or not.

For mixed pve/pvp you still can't go wrong with Gallente.
This NOS nerf doesn't really change most nos/drone boats, on the balance. And blasters by extension just got a little bit better.

Don't listen to the forums, no race's ships are that bad. They'll all perform well enough with a decent fit.
Unless you're aiming to go for the flavour-of-the-month ship, in which case you get everything you deserve when it's nerfed out from under you.
Remember - don't be a numbers *****! Play what sounds like fun, not what you've put through a calculator and decided outputs the highest conceivable DPS. --------- EVE is like a box of chocolates.
omg nerf chocolates D: |

Edited by: Zosimos Sabina on 31/07/2007 19:48:58 I would say that, but NOS-Domi has not been flavor of the month, it's been flavor of multiple years, and even after nos change you can modify the fitting to be just as efficient as before.
Also domi runs missions second only to raven.
And gallente drone/blaster ships are generally pretty good in pvp except for Deimos. Gallente recons are probably the most reliable for gang work, with Arazus and Lachesis have great bonuses to warp scram range and sensor dampening, the "best" EWAR atm after ECM got balanced. And in general people really like Gallente capitals.
So... that's why I suggested Gallente...
Minmatar would come in second and I would say do them if you prefer to do a lot of speedy solo work. I would say they are about = PVP wise but they have a harder time doing missions just because turrets aren't that great.

unless he have tryid all of them he wouldn't know and the game mechanic doesn't allow this to happend unless you have more then one account;)
and the descriptions are worthless since they do not become reality ingame
