So I read some threads on these forums that solo piracy is dead or at least difficult. I like difficult. What if I setup a corporation for solo piracy and wardec a small corporation. Use locator agents to find them.
I dont think they will feel threatened, because its a 1 man corp that wardec-ed them. Most of them might go about their normal business. A small gang might be looking for you, but moving around will certainly help and it might even be fun to get hunted.
Anyone that is actually doing this already or has done this that wants to share his/her experience? Can it be profitable?

I haven't tried it (still too new to if I wanted to), but wouldn't the costs of the wardec far outweigh any kind of profit you could hope to make. I know you'd be doing it for fun, but you can't dec them if you don't have any iskies, right? signature removed - please resize it to be less than 120 pixels in height - Jacques([email protected]) |

Edited by: Jak Silverheart on 31/07/2007 23:27:14 Yup personally im looking for a small time miner corp currently to war dec...
Either
A) I will have fun in some fights or B) They bribe me not to fight and thus pay for more of my ships to war dec someone else.
Its a win-win situation

Wardeccing a small to medium corp with a 1 man corp can be quite entertaining.
Just skill up and be VERY proficient at your chosen ship (even a cruiser wont take long, train for it, and it only). I have seen small corps disband, join alliances, hire mercs, etc all from 1 man corps.
Do the usual: Dont smacktalk Set a ransom to make the problem (you) go away.. and dont sell yourself short. 100 mil to start Fight on your terms (IE: If you fly a cruiser, dont go fighting their 5 man BS blobs) ??? Profit! (picking your targets wisely can lead to some nice profits in guerilla warfare)
Have fun!

Theres a big difference between proper solo-piracy and just deccing a corp; the levels of danger vary quite largly Your signature exceeds the maximum allowed filesize of 24000 bytes -Kreul Intentions ([email protected]) |

1-man wardec's can be quite effecient providing you listen to the advice given above plus use some other logical methods.
1) do recon - do not just randomly pick a corp and dec them. Setup an alt, outfit a frigat/cruiser with mining lasers and go from belt to belt till you find one with a player corp in it. Remember that your now playing a part in the larger scheme of things. Do NOT have your alt have any connections to you. Try and strike up a convo, ask them if they mind if you mine along side them for some protection, find out if they have had a run in with any pirates lately as your "new" to this neck of the town. Social engineering will help you solve a lot of your problems. while your preparing your next target corp, take the time to do a simple search of their corp. You can gain a lot of info from this.
2) if they resist keep up'ing the ransom amount for you to go away and leave them be.
3) to reiterate an above poster - choose your battles wisely.
4) Always remember to keep your clone upto date.
5) Try not to hit the same corporation within a certain time limit. Me personally I believe a 3 month period is more than sufficient but many others would see otherwise.
6) Remember to have fun doing it. Once it feels like a job, find something else.

it really is. anyone who says low sec piracy is solo piracy is dead is simply not doing it right. yes it's harder and targets are fewer but it's still a lot of fun and definately viable.

So I understand now DarkElf! And I'm glad to hear it. Trial and error is on my path to the darkside most certainly, but foolhardy is not an unfamiliar word to me ...
I'll put my back into it and see where it goes from there.

Neferte: Read this. It is sooo easy to do, and a hell of a lot of fun. One of the best times I've had in EVE. Tons of targets. Plenty of smack. You just have to give them a bloody nose at first, and their fear will take care of the rest.

Brilliant thread! Your style of writing is very admirable! I will go for a Letter of Marque approach, but if you need help collecting taxes anytime soon ...
All you need to do is give me an IRS - Letter of Marque .

solo piracy is far from dead, i've certianly meet many in low sec and 0.0
1 man corp war decs still happen lots and can be great fun, some tips ya may like...
1. keep moving about and prepare safe spots a few will do in each system visited by your enemy lots. 2. Have a few or several fitted ships of various fittings and types eg short/long range ewar etc. This will keep the enemy guessing on your set ups, so they never quite know or prepare for you accordly. keeps em on they toes.
Think like a swiss army penknife and prepare for multiply out comes.
