Hi,
I have a Nemesis with a tech 2 cloaking device on it, but I have a few questions:
1. Is it only when I'm locked that I can't cloak - or does an enemy ship attempting to lock me prevent cloaking as well?
2. If it's only once a lock has been achieved that prevents me cloaking, are there items available that make me harder to lock - ie, take more time, or break my current locks for long enough to cloak?
3. Most missions seem to have some sort of clouds or something that prevent cloaking - why has this been done? makes it hard to take a weak stealth bomber on some missions, even with company to tank

1. When locked.
2. ECM and sensor dampeners.
3. Its ambience, cloaks never were a big part of missions, you're rarely supposed to ambush or sneak up on rats.

Locked or locking.. both prevent you from cloaking

There are ECM modules that break locks. Sensor dampners increase enemy ships time to lock onto you (mind you that wont help of you are trying to cloak. Originally by: Andral

The clouds are just background.. only 2 things prevent you from cloaking
Being locked or getting locked
and
Any object w/i 2km of your ship
