Would it be possible to compile all the relevant parameters currently only available as columns with numbers or hidden on the Attributes tab of modules into a single real time LED displayed next to each weapon module showing a 3 color state depending on it s efficiency if fired against the currently selected target?
Did that make any sense?

Would be nice.
But then it sounds like a lag-inducing feature. -------------------- No signature needed. |

This would be the sort of thing players would do if CCP allowed 3rd party plugins to be developped with EVE API.
I don't think it's worth asking CCP to do this feature, tho.

I remember there used to be an accuracy display in the old interface, if you hovered the mouse pointer over a turret icon it would display the accuracy against the current target in the readout.
It's ancient history, but I wonder why it was removed. I'm guessing the calculation was done client side, so it shouldn't introduce any lag whatsoever...

Such a feature wouldn't require any extra data to be sent to the client. It'd be fun, but the UI is already a bit crowded, and changes in the target's motion would cause constant fluctuations. Colour coding is a good idea (for the majority of users, anyway), but I think some sort of gradual variation would work better provided that it was opaque. ------ Spreadsheets: Top speed calculation - Halo Implant tanking |

Yeah, theres always the wannabe gung-ho hardcase old skool entourage voicing that opinion to suggestions on improving the UI for a broader range of the player base.
Elitist bull**** coming from a few loudmouths wanting to be hardcore and making other people cower and hide their true opinions and whishes on issues like this one, thinking they are missing, or not understanding something.

There's always the chance that we simply disagree with you. If you've read any of my other posts, I'm very much pro-sticking it to the man, but it's not elitist to say your idea is simply poor. Frug and Gariuys brought up valid points- it's perfectly possible to spend 5 minutes in or out of game working this stuff out, it simply isn't hard, and until we're allowed custom ui's, the last thing this game needs is any more buttons

Then just say it like that to start with.
If theres any information on this issue you want to convey, you dont do it with comments liek that and you know what I m talking about. The wide spread notion of that wise ass n00bs and ignorant people should be taught a lesson on how to behave through being slapped around with sarcasm, jokes and general bullying until they conform with whatever is expected of them is just w r o n g and should imho be moderated on these forums to a much greater extent than it is.
Some people just lack a proper upbringing and then they go and make it into forum etiquette. Sheesh!

Overview -> Settings -> Columns Select angular velocity.
Now keep the targets angular velocity smaller than that of your guns and in range. Now you know if your target has high resists or is moving to fast.

Personally I don't really like the idea. It's not that the idea is bad, but knowing where you guns are and aren't useful is part of the skill involved. EVE already lacks the need for a lot of real time skill in combat, and this just adds that little bit. It's not hard to learn in the end though. It starts to become second nature once you've used your guns enough.
It also creates a reliance on the tool. This is, in my opinion, a bad thing. When it comes to PvP, or a PvE situation going wrong, it is vital to know exactly how your guns work so you can attack the right targets as quickly as possible. If people start relying on this tool, they will have to check all the targets before they begin their attack, which wastes valuable time.
Beyond that, the UI is already really cluttered. The addition of the heat part of the UI already forced me to make my overview smaller (and it didn't have all the numbers on it..) and having these little lights is only going to make that worse. And in fact, far from help a new player, it would make them confused as just another part of the already very complicated UI to learn.
I suppose it's possible to take this as a "bull**** elitist attitude from someone trying to make it tough for the new guys" or something, but it really isn't. I just don't think it's necessary.

Well as mostly there is some truth in almost every post.
1. Knowing your gear is pivotal !
2. Some indicator would be a nice gimmick...and would not effect lag in any way...as the data must be calculated anyway (therefor you get your damage indicated while firing)
3. No need to bash someone for asking to have something added to the game. One can express his disagreement much better not using "i am tah pro 1337 h4xx0r and u are just a n00b".....
4. I want an automated logfile if EvE is lagging....to disprove the "There is no lag" Statement from the GM ..or at least i would like some intermission Music while the lag endures...or some naked chicks dancing.... :D Or Chippendales for the Girls in here (too bad for the guys who chose female Chars to play with :D )

No this gets added to my "Don't dumb eve down any further list"
We need more opportunity for player skill. Additions like this will take was little skill is left out of the game.
This ranks aside the requests for an "align to" button.

I really don't see how this would take out skill? It would just make fights a little more immersive. If anything it might help with this games incredibly steep learning curve. Not that that's a bad thing, ofc but a few things could stand to have indicators, even if they were optional. -------------------------
