I have come across a lot of cloaking raven's recently and ever attempt at trying to catch them has resulted in a lot of wasted time and probes. So I thought I would post in here to see what hints and tips the community might have on how to catch these pesky ratters.

Watch your directional scanner over and over again.
When cloaked it says "raven raven"
When uncloaked it says "name raven".
When you see the last part you go and probe and hunt him down.

A ratter that sees a enemy in local and cloak, will never uncloak before the enemy has left local.
thats why he has cloak in the first place

That's painfully inaccurate. Cloaked ships do not appear on directional scanner at all.
As for catching them, you need to be fast, extremely proficient with directional scanner, patient, and have a solid comprehension of how people rat; lots of subtleties that make them predictable, after all there is a person behind that achura avatar. I engaged 4 cloaking ravens today, and have grabbed probably a dozen or so in recent weeks. I enjoy hunting them when given the chance, it's a challenge and keeps one's stalking skills up to par

Has there been any more info on if/when they will release the changes to probes to find cloaked ships ?

travel with a 1 day old nub alt in a frig with a scram. get him to go in a tackle the guy then jump your main in

IMO ships larger than a cruiser should not be able to cloak.
Also any non covert-Ops/recon ship should have a chance to be probed out. Maybe similar to a ships chance of being scanned out in deadspace. (NOTE: not how easy it is to scan out all the wrecks, drones, ect, but the actually player ship its self, thats dang difficult)

The easiest way to find a cloaked ship takes 2 people... one in a drone carrying ship, one in a fast ship... provided you know which belt he's in, go to that belt... put your drone ship on one side and the fast ship on the other... then send your drones out and tell them to attack the fast ship... this sends them out across the field, then call them back... repeat in different direction until the cloaked raven is found.

use dictor, warp to belt, launch bubble and log off
emergency warp will not be initiated and you stay in belt for some seconds (if not agressed) and then dissapear.
Wait some time and log in, you should spawn in a belt where you logged. If there is not many belts you have a good chance the ratter will be hunting in your belt.
ps. never tried, just a pure theory, may be it won't work for some reason

try leaving the system and come back in a few minutes, they might be ratting and if they are engaged with rats you have a change of probing them down before they safe spot and cloak.

Yeah some of them you need 2 scrams if they have a sensor boosted cloaking raven. Most of them ss then cloak so trauling belts with drones won't necessarily help you. That and they can't cloak while locked so generally is a pointless effort trying to decloak a raven that isn't there.
I agree I don't have the features to be a holoreel star.
Most people have missed the point that this is Mobsters Online and that carebears are at the bottom of the foodchain. |

When it says Raven | Raven on the scanner they've ejected.

I think that if you hit cloak, you should lose the ability to see whose in local. Chat will still work, but the "enemy" has to open his mouth first.
So, ratter cloaks, he loses the ability to monitor local. He can't be sure that local is empty, unless he uncloaks to "take a peek".
I think that's fair.
