I was out on .4 and .3 space pirate hunting in about 7 systems. I found alot of people ratting but no pirates(as far as I could tell). I found one guy but he warped out and headed for home. So, Where are you oh great and mighty pirates? Where do you hide? What systems do you frequent? Because I got really bored and from what I read pirates like to fight. Woops, oh, I know, I don't fly a frigate. lol. Maybe that's why? So I decided to speed things up and ask you all, oh pirates of eve, to tell me where I might find you? Don't be shy, just honest. And I will be seeking you all out, but hey, lets make it a challenge. I will go where you all tell me pirates skulk. Please have bounties as to that makes the game much more fun. And no, I won't split it with you. And after 4 hrs of looking I left.

Jita is full of pirate alts. If you fly around killing everyone in sight you're sure to kill a couple of them.

lol...wasn't your last topic about how pirates had taken over low sec and Eve in general? Maybe your attempt to form a carebear army scared them all off, so just consider it mission accomplished.

I doubt all the pirates have left eve. But I have seen alot less than I used to. Am I a bad pirate hunter for looking for 4 hrs and no luck? No, just a bad night. I have been to jan, rancer, but I haven't need to engle. Maybe I'll check in out Friday night. So, thanks for giving me great suggestions for places. I will be heading there shortly. Any other suggestions? So, ZK, what is your advice to finding pirates? How am I doing it wrong?

Egghelende is a pirate paradise. Just go ratting in the belts for 20 mins and i promise you will get attacked.

You spent FOUR HOURS in only seven systems? Hunting? Dude, hunting isn't about sitting in a safe spot and checking pilot's sec rating as they pass through local. You have to *move* to find your targets.
If you think that was hunting, then your main is in BIG trouble.
Systems of interest? Go to Amamake or Rancer or Gusandall and introduce yourself.
Or use locator agents. You *do* know how to use them don't you?
There are pirates out there S. Lots.

open the map (f10) and find a low sec system with a lot of shipkills within the last hour. Else go to amamake and I promise you will be dead after 30 min.

Amamake is your best bet tbh. Packed with pirates 24/7.
Dont go on your own though, they all work together there. Unless you fancy a real challenge. Apart from there try eifer, alot of wannabe pirates there popping trade runners and noobs. And finally, rancer. silent scream hang there. good during the day time if they ever undock.
Basically its hard to get a raise out of pirates going solo. If they think theres a chance they might lose they wont engage you unless they have more numbers or a superior ship. the days of solo pvp are coming to an end.

Well, I sure appreciate all the great info you all have provided. And I will surely use it to my best advantage. Will be seeing these areas soon. As to checking the map for pirate location, did that but when I would get there, I was all alone. So, I continued my sweep. Curzon, you do have insurance, right? And so do I. Win, lose, or draw, I still have fun. However, since I run solo mostly I stay away fron blobs. IF I can.

You come onto the forums smacking pirates and yet it took you 4 hours to go through 7 systems. Pirates roam dude. If you want to find a camp it takes about 30 seconds to find one on the map. if u want to find roaming pirates you better get faster. We often go over 100 jumps on short ops.

Not true. Alot of the times, yes. However, I see you didn't read the part when I said I STAY AWAY from blobs. And where I am at I used to see pirates alot in 8 jumps or less. And I did go to the map and find the info and went to some of the places and no one around. Woops, did you miss that part to? Since I said it before. You know what really blows my mind? Someone of your caliber(yes, I looked you up) and others like you who are are forum experts, all seem to say stuff that makes no sense because you didn't read what I said. So you sound really noobish by going on a rant after I have already addressed the issue. Now, I realize you know alot, and I do appreciate advice from more experienced players. So, tell me, how would you pirate hunt? I have learned there are alot of ways to do it and people have mixed results.

So, when I took my Augoror Of DOOOOM up against a Myrm and lost, or took my Kessie up against a Thorax and lost, I was certain I was going to win?
Don't post if you don't know what you're talking about. Most pirates will attack if they think it will be a fun fight.
That being said, I wouldn't take my Kessie up against a BS, that would be stupid. Or my Augoror against a Carrier, that would be stupid as well.

Haha all you have to do is look at the eve map and figure hmm, that is low sec and 40 ships have been destroyed there today. I think I'll go check it out. It isn't hard to figure out where they are and aren't, definately in 4 hours I'm sure you could fly somewhere and find them haha.
Oh, btw, if you go to Egg and surrounding low sec you definately want to bring friends. You will try to kill someone and become a gankee. :P Just to let you know you won't last long solo there, in the those areas. Enjoy, dying to the "Mighty Pirates"

You won't find many people just openly ratting in lowsec or mining heavily. It isn't safe enough. You need to find the carebear pockets where they think they are safe. There is a pocket east of amamake. Plenty of happless people doing things they would rather get away with.

Judging by your posts in this thread, I don't think you'll last very long against any pirate(s). If you wanna give it a go, head to Placid. Might find some there. Head a little farther down the pipe, and you'll find Essence. Head over to Vitrauze. Death's Legion will be happy to loot your wreck and exterminate your pod. Keep going a little farther down the pipe into the Bleak Lands and you might find some VETO. I'm sure they would be more than happy to barbeque your ship and eat your corpse. Keep on flying and you might make it to Amamake. GL tho, I think you're going to need it.

If you want to find pirates, I mean REALLY want to find pirates, it is as simple as using a locater agent. The big low sec pirate corps and alliances are well known. Pick a corp/alliance, go to their website, look on their forums for some names, plunk those names in front of a locater agent and you will have some systems to visit. If this is too complex, visiting the pirate haven systems usually works. Looking on the map for the systems with kills in them works very well too. Otherwise posting a system you are in on here will possibly get the local pirates to come down for some pew pew... just don't get caught hiding in a station after this forum thread or you'll never be able to show your face on here again.

Outstanding info. And no, I have no intention of station hiding. I will being heading to the areas you all have recommended. Thanks for your help. As to locator agents, not a big fan because I don't usually hunt just one pirate. I like going to places and seeing pirates in local and getting the party started.

Basically any low-sec in Heimatar, Metro, Sinq, and maybe some areas of providence. If you can't find trouble there, you're either blind or on the test server.

Now :p i must admit i once got ganked in jita. But i was afk so i am the one to blame :p but yesterday eve primetime 2200, I fitted a t1 battlecruiser with 4 x large shield extenders. 2x 1600 mm plates and a set of corpum nanos. and a corpum eanm. Gave me close to 80 overall resist on 20 k armor.
I safely and smoothly moved 4.9 bill worth of mods and bpcs out of jita
I dont really know what it would take to gank 20 k tanked with 80 across the board + another poorly tanked shields :o
I also took a alternate route and took a few other precautions.
But what was my odds of making it safe home?
