I was just thinking it would be spiffy to have a T2 frigate sized logistics ships to compliment the nice upgrade to assault frigates.
I just have this mental picture of a complete frigate gang roaming. Dps, ewar, logi.
Would that not be fun? |

The problem with frig sized logistics is that frigates are generally moving to fast to stay in range of reps. Whereas large ships spend more time at range(warp in at range, less burning towards/away from targets, slower orbit). From my experience new logi pilots even have problems keeping reps on faster cruiser sized ships. |

Remote Rep assault frigate gangs are hella fun. You have to work like a swarm of bees and orbit within 500m of your target (and AB sig tank) but its very effective. All races can field armour RR AF's....but for some insane reason, the shield modules have ridiculous CPU requirements (up to 124!) so shield RR gangs are unviable.
With the mooted changes to MWD sig radius for AF's, extra punchiness and tankiness, I'm equivocal about whether this will result in better results for RR AF gangs or destroy the concept. Even putting an MWD on at all will result in massively more DPS and break the concept...so we will see.
Logistic destroyers would be nice...but you can just as easily take along an Execquror or Osprey to roll with your AF gang anyway, and sit at 30-40km dispensing love. The skilful employer of men will employ the wise man, the brave man, the covetous man, and the stupid man. Sun Tzu

It's an interesting idea that has been voiced before, if done right it would be a very sexy ship and a huge boon to people who like to clown around with smaller/faster stuff. Potential downside is that the whole RR strategy kinda kills solo combat even more, but as I'm a sucker for teamwork I'd embrace it in a second even though I tend to fly alone.
If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right. |

Why not a dessy logi? more hi's so it could use lots of small remote reps and not up sized ones like cruiser logi's do. would at least help the DED space small remote rep market, cuz as of now you can get a-types for small remote reps for 3 mill or less apeace. |

Yeah, i prefer the destroyer hull to a frigate hull for sub-cruiser logistics. Although they'd need AF type resists.
There should be more dessie stuff happening, and this would be a nice way to get assault frigs out and rocking balls.
Alternatively a destroyer hull with gang links and a frigate logi. Either way.
Just... moar cool frigate stuff to do. They'll never ever be the king of anything but as long as they can be fun and cheap they'll be awesome. Particularly if electronic attack ships get a little boost too. Pack of frigs 4tw. |

I like the idea. But as others have said before, IGÇÖd favour a dessi logi over a frigate one. |

The reason for that is that the DED RRs (shield atleast) are actually worse than the T2 ones in most ways (I think they have better range and worse stats everywhere else). That's a bigger issue that needs to be fixed in and of itself. |

As long as they would be limited to either small or medium reps, with similar range bonuses to a typical logi ship, I don't see why this wouldn't be an amazing addition to our arsenal of ships. Large fleets wouldn't really be affected by this, small gang pvp might see a use for them, and wolf packs would be more deadly than they already are.
Logi ships would not get replaced either, because frigate logi would not be able to put out the necessary rep power, and tank of their bigger cousins. |

Their drones aren't damage bonused, there are just a lot of them....so you aren' t really missing out on a bonus or anything. |

Frigate Logi's would be so much fun! Using the hulls from the frigate mining ships (Bantams and the like). Able to use med RR and able to use half the number the current logi's use. So for the Caldari and Amarr 2/1 and Minnie and Gall 2 (though not sure whether this would be enough or not). Or only able to use small RR and it be 4/2 and 4 (this might not be enough though as they are smalls). Same bonuses as the current Logi's, except the tracking links bonus (change that to something else, I dunno what though). Enough CPU/PG to fit a prop mod and some buffer tank. |
