i finaly got round to training for ceptors. been busy with recons n such. anyway, what kinda speed should i be looking for on a taranis and ares? im gonna be using t2 mwd's and have slave implants so snakes are not an option. i currently get 4.6k/sec on my rail ranis. havent fitted out the blaster ranis yet and still need to go pick up the ares
cheers Chuck Norris played the eve beta. But when he fit a roundhouse kick to his ibis it caused the collapse of the eve gate, the minmatar to revolt, the jove to go into excile and drones turned stupid. |

It depends a bit on what you're looking to fight. Only against other interceptors you might need a bit more than 4.6km/s, though do keep in mind that it's probably not worth wasting your whole setup just to get 1km/s more speed.
4.6km/s is enough against anything non-ceptor.

I generally set 4km/s as my minimum speed on a ceptor, if its under , add overdrive. 4.6km/s is great. Especially for a ranis, slow/fat;P

Edited by: Hannobaal on 04/08/2007 16:53:19 A tech 2 fitted Ares without rigs or faction equipment should be able to get up to right above 7 km/s when fitted for speed. ------------------

Nanophoon that goes 4.8k/s... The rule of thumb I'm going by as I work my way to ceptors, is if its under 5k/s straight line speed, it's too slow. 7 is pretty attainable if you drop cash into rigs and have a bit of SP. I'm sitting at 2900 in my Rifter right now with no rigs, so hopefully I can get up near 5k as soon as I sit in my Ceptor.
I've asked the same question and heard all kinds of answers, but I'd say 5k+ is a good speed to shoot for, if for nothing else it's a nice round number.

You can reach 7 in the fast interceptors without rigs, implants, or faction equipment if you fit for pure speed and have Navigation at 5 and Acceleration control at, at least, 4. ------------------
