Correct. But if you ask 'What's the best 250mm raolgun that is in-game atm and affordable and obtainable?' the answer becomes the Compressed Coil 250mm.

The best medium railgun currently in-game is the 250mm Prototype Gauss I. Second best is the 250mm Compressed Coil I, third is the 250mm 'Scout' Accelerator I.
In terms of how good the gun is, how affordable and obtainable the Compressed wins. -------------------------

...but they all want the same powergrid, which seems to be the limiting factor for me.

As a weapons trader,I can tell you that the 720 Scout is simply the most sought after medium weapon right now, if you don't count the Heavy (formerly H-50) Arbalest. The 250mm Prototype Gauss and the Heavy Modulated Beam used to be kings tie by tie.
The fad is clearly on projectile howitizers, and even on frigates, the 280mm Howitizer is the most in demand, especially the 280mm Scout which can command the highest prices for any small frigate weapon.

Isn't there one that eats 300MW power? Or was that just an error in whatever list I saw it? Can't really see why one would want to waste 75MW more for a railgun.
