Hello all
As a mission runner/Miner I was wondering whether it would be better to get some crystal implants for easier mission tanking or should I stick with my plus 4's.
Or would it be a good idea to get a jump clone and use that for crystal implants. I could switch back and forth depending on what I feel like doing that day.

Stick with +4. You can solo lvl 4 missions without fitting crystals. You just need the skills, which you will learn quicker using +4s.

There are far better things for a mission runner to buy. The training time lost by using a LQ set vs. +4 is not worth the small amount of shield boosting, especially when you're just 4 months old. Save up the cash, look to buy a better ship and modules while you grind out the skills.

With crystals and FoF's you can just basicly afk or touch yourself and run L4's at the same time with ease.
Roughly a T2 fitted raven with xtals is comparable to / better then a deadspace fitted one in terms of shield boost.
I guess it depends on how much you like L4's, personally I think they are a solid investment and would reccomend them over +4's any day of the week.

Im probably not the best authority on this as Ive spent a grand total of around 800k on implants in my eve career across both of my characters, but I would say its a matter of personal preference. If youre not worried about maxing out SP's it might be better to get the crystals, assuming your attributes arent really borked and you did the learning skills the extra +1 wont have that big of an impact. But go with the +4's if you want the epeen or to be well trained on several different races or professions.

Level 4 missions are very easy now. Lots of people dont seem to have noticed that they have been a lot easier since the introduction of level 5's.
Today you dont need anything special to do them.

Buying a set of crystals means you can drop a amp. This could be a hardner, a painter or evena cap recharger so you can drop a PDU or a cap flux II from the lows and fit another damage mod.
Personally - buy high grade set but buy a low grade epsilon, unless you fancy forking out 500mil+ for a implant. The only benifit of crystals now is of you want to tank lvl5's solo or if you want to do what I do which is afk permatank angels extravaganza bonus stage while pvping on your main!

Do crystals have any stacking penalty with amps or ship bonuses?
