Its been months, maybe even a year since lag ruined this game. Now Desyncs and repeated complete server failure. Enough is enough already, stop implementing new features, stop enchouraging the blob. Dedicate resources to fixing a very flawed product before its too late.
CCP your inability to offer a product that is playable and stable will be your own undoing.

The folks who make new features are NOT the same guys who maintain the hardware. We don't WANT the software guys trying to keep the hardware humming. The guy who writes and designs the new missions and Deadspaces may not know how to write a line of program code, but he doesn't have to. All he has to do is write a few event triggers that conform to the program specs.
Quit screaming for everyone to fix your problem of the day. After all, do you really want the janitor to work on the program modules that control your weapons?

I sympathise with those that are frustrated
the saddest part is that ccp is doing it's very best, with, obviously, mixed results :(

While true, this time I think we can officially blame Microsoft. Or Sybase ;)
Convert the db farm to PostGreSQL and get some fit coders and such problems will be fixed faster.

Ive shamefully been whoring World of Warcraft for a whole year.. and... its about the same there.. dont think you will be able to find any Online game without these problems..

Do you know that this downtime is caused by a hardware upgrade (like an attempt to FIX PROBLEMS)

It's to many players on server anybody knows it, but ccp says that server can handle >50k ppl :P
You know guys... ccp really dont care if server have one dt per day, or two or three dt per day - people paying so all is ok.

But it's the same with many games, They fix a problem that causes more problems, which means they have to fix That problem, which causes more problems....and so on...Typical of any game or MMOG, get used to it is all I can say.

Same old argument and it hasn't gotten any better.
If my company has too many system engineers but not enough hardware techs, guess what they do? Either cross train or fire some engineers and get some more techies. If a content designer can't code at all and cannot be trained to code he could still be more valuable in QA right now, should be able to be trained for THAT, don't you think?

So if you fear a crash with lost, you should have not logged in.
And one thing for sure, the software which EVE based on got also bugs which not fixed of the companies which sold it to CCP. They got same problem what we have.
I understand that a customer which buy stuff, want also it works like it should. But software like EVE is complex and depend on many 'code' which is baught. Look at support side of Microsoft Office products, do you really think all this described bugs get ever fixed?
Don't ever think CCP can surround all bugs which made of their sellers. Be patient and accept, that software is what it is, soft and buggy
Theres allways someone who knows more....

Every single patch, every DB upgrade don't do anything else, but destroying all fun from this game. It's sad, but true CPP. Your "Need for speed" is only a metafore to "Need of lag/desych". You name it. Graphics level of this game is good enough, you don't have to make it better. You should concentrate yourself on performance and stability!!!

Rubbish. They didn't write that there's any danger and we're well outside of any maintenance window. According to your logic people should not log in at all as there's patching or maintenance every week now that might influence stability for a few days.

Little things would be nice. A cache that doesn't need manual cleaning. Graphics options that are available to all users by default. I think the fact that very easy fixes are completely overlooked by CCP make a lot of people unhappy and make a lot of people think that CCP doesn't care.
I left EVE about a year and a half ago after losing yet another ship to intermittent freezes. In hindsight, I probably shouldn't have done that. When you look around at all the other games available as MMOs or single player games, this is the best there is. I'm back now, the problems are still there, but I don't care anymore. Unless somebody can make a better game I'll be sticking around despite the technical difficulties.
