I need help with setting up macros for my G15 Logitech keyboard.
I managed to quick-macro a button that activates the available weapons on F1-F8 (or whatever is placed on the top-row in your overview)
But I would like to have macro-buttons for middle and lower row, too.
So far, the only thing that happens, when I create a macro to activate the first med-slot is the activation of my first high slot. Somehow, it misses the Alt before the F1. During macro-recording (on both quick-macro or ordinary macro-recording) I press Alt and hold it, then press F1, release F1 before Alt and finish recording. When testing the macro only the first Highslot gets activated.
What am I doing wrong, what could I do different?

Are you doing it though the MacroRecord button or though the Keyboard Profiler?
I have a G11 keyboard and the middle row macro, I have made though Keyboard Profiler, works fine for me.

Hey, thanks for the helping reply.
I tried both ways, but so far no succes.
I'll go and try with these delays I saw in your setup.
I found some posts on these forums, where people state that the profile has to be connected to the correct eve .exe-file (exefile.exe if i am correct). Could that be another cause for my problems?
Thanks for your advise anyway.

Don't know if it has to be 'binded' to the .exe file but I have.

Otherwise I'm sorry. I don't know what the problem could be. Maybe contact Logitech?

once you've recorded the macro alt-f1, alt-f2 etc. go into the little editor tool and manually add in some extra delay between the alt's and F's. I think there's also an option that enabled delay recording (i'm at work so cant't check atm)
I've also setup macro's with double-delay in them for using in laggy situations :) -----

you have to link it to exefile.exe, not eve.exe -- Tempus fugit -- |

These kind macros != lol macrominer. :) Can't be chained, can't be otherwise set up to do much more than press keys one after the other.

these macros are rather harmless you can't have them play the game for you like bots or something. but can make thinngs easier say for example you have a battle ship half with long range gung and half short range you could for say rig them up in two group on two keys one to turn one for longer rang targets and tother to turnnthem one for frigates or somthing. or have missle launcher time in a way the fire in a sequence so you get a steady stream of shot vs fireing all in one volley and several seconds between. it can be handy i situaution but general you can only tie them to key presses and cannot us them for botting it not that complex and even a couple of the dev in the past stated they used the g15. and yes i have the g-15 and its the best keyboard i ever owned. and the macros with arn't gonna give anyone an unfair advantage it is just not that complaex to do anything fancy

you have to bind to \EVE\bin\ExeFile.exe but that doesn't matter - all that does is load the profile automatically - you can always load the profile manually or have your EVE profile the default
anyway, to use the alt and ctrl modes on multiple f-keys in the same G15 assignment you have to insert a .100 delay before and after each f-key (your delay may vary).
so i got ctrl down|.100 delay|f down|f up|.100 delay|f down-----etc--------|.100 delay|ctrl up

Im a little confused, I thought macros were outright banned from EvE. Are you saying that there is a keyboard that is the exception?

What is banned is setting up a macro to mine and haul all day while you're at work.....setting up keyboard macros to make your life easier while you're AT the keyboard is quite OK.

"Macro" is often used in a very vague sense to mean a third party application that interacts with the client in the same way a player would without the player being present at the keyboard. They're not really macros at all, because strictly speaking a macro is a complex series of valid commands sent via a single key press. The complicated programs are closer to "scripts".
Under these strict definitions, macros are actually mostly OK under the EULA while scripts are definitely illegal. The definitions in the EULA are left intentionally vague though, as CCP reserves the right to say "That's giving someone an unfair advantage" or "That's not really what we had in mind" if they find some behaviour causes problems.

as far as I interpreted the EULA, you're just not allowed to use macros to facilitate afk / automated play. so long as you're at your keyboard, I dont think there'd be a problem.

At ú60 how could they not allow them, it would be like turning away customers, i use my G15 to turn mods on and off, mainly the F1-8 either all at once or with 1 sec delay between them, hilarious when used with heavy assault launchers and a cerb - get it perfectly synct.

Good post. I use a G15 keyboard. I set up a profile the only problem is I don't know how to actually set up the commands. For example I wanted one of the G keys to let out drones, one to engage target and then one to bring them back in.
What kind of things are you guys using the G keys for?

Not possible. G keys is like shortcuts to other shortcuts. Yeah sounds stupid but what it does is instead you need to press all the way from F1 to F8 for activate w/e you can assign a G button to do it all for you in one press instead eighths presses.
You can't assign G keys to commands. "But my friend in W0W can dance when he press the G button!!!11one!" That's because he has bind one of his G keys to type in /dance and then press enter, so he doesn't have to do it. No commands, keystrokes only.
Unfortunately there is no shortcut for release drones or get drones to engage target, so...
