Is the price putting everyone off?

I'm sure people use them... but they are 0.0 toys so it'll be with limited stories to tell. I heard a few stories already - EW bombs 4tw - I'm a nice guy!!

I have 1 kinetic sitting in the hangar that's still waiting for the moment when we get more than 1 Stealth Bomber to get a gang going.

Goons have used damage-type bombs on DU at least twice that I can recall. Neither resulted in anything notable. ---

to fit a bomb requires you to nerf your setup in the first place beacuse it means sacrificing a cruise launcher. Add to that the cost of a fully loaded launcher and some spares you can see why the average bomber pilot wont drag them around. CCP should remove the launcher point from the bomb mod so it can be fit along side 3x launchers.

A bomb costs as much as a fighter currently. This is just too much. Until CCP addresses this (easiest way would be to make 1 production run build 10 bombs) than they'll be a novelty.

If that would be the same as lowering the price to 1/10 of the current price, then they'd be insanely overpowered. You're already able to deal more damage with a group of bombs than with a doomsday weapon, making it cheap to do so would not be a good idea.

there is a fixed limit of how many bombs you can deploy at the same time in one location. have a look at the damage and resists, also the dd is not sig nerfed

A bonused damage bomb does 7600 dmg to a bs size sig. Add in the resists and you dont end up with that much dmg. Making them cost 2-4mil per shot would make them worth something. Now they are 20mil a pop which is too much.

I got hit by 3 bombs in my Myrmidon the other day while I was in a bubble, one bomber died and my drones went to half armor. I laughed as they barely scratched my shields, I think the bombers were expecting me to instapop. To me it looks like bombs aren't really that great, allow them to be fitted alongside 3 cruise launchers and reduce their price by a 1/4. Hopefully the devs were just being overly cautious when implementing such a potentially dangerous idea and they give it a little attention in the next patch so this doesn't become a completely wasted idea.

most 0.0 alliances do not have that problem as their built on site. The problem is it takes 5-8 of them depending on the bomb type to kill battleships. You have 5-8 bombers in a location it's going to be real hard not to decloak each other.
The bombs pretty much require an interdictor, if the bombers are setup for bombing it can takes 2-3 bombs before the bomber goes pop. The only way to kill anything is to have 7 bombs loaded in 7 bombers (that's a 140 mil) interdictor decloaks/warps in, the bombers are not aligned to where they're warping to, the bombers start warp and drop their bombs, the interdictor starts warp and drops it's sphere. All 8 ships (as long as they don't get warp scrambled) will make it out before the 15 second timer hits and the bombs go off.
Technically you could use less bombs on a sniper fleet but if your going to do it, you want to make sure you do as much damage as possible.
The bombers with bombs take a whole lot of coordination to use effectively to kill battleships. The lockbreakers can be pretty useful in fleet combat and 3 or 4 of the energy neut bombs can have a pretty serious impact on small to mid sized gang on gang fights. Fear the Ibis of doom!
