Hi, I've been going round in a small gang in a BC for a new months and i'm wanting to go solo for a bit to hopefully help me learn more about PVPing. I'm looking for a good Amarr ship & set-up best for solo PVPing. I'll be using it to go through low sec not 0.0 space.
My current BC (prophecy) doesn't seem to do enough dps, the only thing I seem to do well in it is tank. I've tried using both Beam and Pulse lasers but i'm still having no luck with the dps. :( |

hmmm the absolution looks good enough but the zealot doesn't look like it can do alot of dps, what fittings are you thinking? I'd like to take down (or put up a good fight) against ships up to a BC. |

Zealot can do awesome dps - however keep in mind its a cruiser.
Harbinger is also nice for cheap disposable pvp, Arbitrator/Curse/pilgrim can be awesome if you have drone/ew/navigational skills. Abaddon is an awesome pvp ship for solo, so is the gankageddon. As for individual setups I'd look in the sticky.
Oh, and with some projectile guns on the prophecy, its sweet aswell.

Hey ****weed, it took you just as much effort to post that instead of something useful and don't give me that bs about the Ships and Modules thread being cluttered with things that could have been searched for.
That being said, I fly with cruisers in combat every day. As already stated, they are quite cost effective in comparison to other, more skill and isk intensive ships.

Cheers, i've been looking at the Abaddon and it looks sweet but I think i'm going to learn for the recons first then get my BS skill to lvl 4 then get the Abaddon. I've always wanted to sneak up on people when cloaked :D |

The Harbinger does more DPS than the Prophecy, and is cheaper than the Zealot.
The Curse and Pilgrim are also handy ships one on one, although you do need good drone and EW skills to get the best out of them.
Other than that, you can train up your missile skills and in a few weeks you'll be able to fly the re-vamped Sacrilege effectively.
If you're looking for solo PvP though, Amarr ships in general probably aren't your best option.

I do hope that was a joke, otherwise you shouldn't be giving advice, and should prolly just leave.
If you fit a scram, you cant fit mwd/web, and my battleships can outrun the Retri's base speed, if you fit an mwd/web, you wont have much luck as everyone can warp away.

i'd suggest the arbi too, a loss isn't that dramatic and you said you wanted to learn, so you'll loose some ships. you need some drone skills for taht ofc :)

There is no good ship for solo pvp other than BS class or Absolution command ship ... and u must have mad gunnery and command ship 5 to really hurt your target. Or t2 large pulse with 3 dmg mods on a bs.

Edited by: Setana Manoro on 09/08/2007 06:42:43 Harbinger can do 550+ dps with a good setup. Try something along the lines of : 7x focused med pulse II with scorch/conflag M -- 10mn MWD Warp Disruptor II X5 webb 1x r-fx med cap injector -- MAR I/2/named 1600mm RT plate EANM II Dam Control II 2x Heat Sink II
With my skills, close to 450 DPS from guns, and the 5x Valkyries II with maxed skills are another 150 DPS. It is cheap, disposable and somewhat survivable with the up-coming nos-nerf.
Amarr have a lot of solo ships, but you need to be aware of their weaknesses. Ac-Punisher with plates are very very slow, so they cannot catch something. Ac-Prophecy does very low DPS but can choose damage type which compensates somewhat. Zealot has ok DPS but it depends on the target's resists if it is sucessfull or not. Absolution will be wtfpwned if you have a cap injector and the other guy figures it out that you don't have a webb. Gankageddon does very nice damage but it is only slightly more maneuverable than a POS - especially with plates, considering that it cannot fit a MWD. Arbitrator is without a doubt one of the top 3 cruisers in-game and probably the best 1;1 cruiser out there.
There are plenty of good amarr ships for solo, you just need to be very aware of their weaknesses. :)

if u will stay cheap ( if u have to learn is better to use some trow away ships):
cruiser: Arbitrator ( highly recomended if u have good drone skills) bc: Harbringer
In case u will/can use T2 ships: sacri ( nos sacri now... HAM fitted after khanid MKII changes) Curse/pilgrim Absolution/damnation ( same as sacri)
I suggest u do not use BS's ...

Not really. Put a MAR + 800mm plate instead of 1600mm plate so you will keep your cap low and continue to nos.
Or, fit the 1600mm plate but go with 3x light neutron blasters II and 1x small nos.
