Originally by: Dee Vour My point isnt about what or not to do in this game; i believe anything can be done here, hence the beauty of this place.
No, my point is about BALANCE.
To each scam, the State usually finds ways to counteract. And my question is 'do you guys think there should be an appropriate -to the ethos of the game- way to respond to wrecks being nicked by thieves?'
There are ways to do so. If you're mainly concerned with finding out who is taking salvage from "your" wrecks, why don't you just stick around the deadspace and find out? Or, if they're going to the effort of avoiding you, just grab a cloak. * * * In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Originally by: Ishtar Hathor The problem is as I have found they can salvage your wrecks and they wonĘt get flagged so long as they don't steal the loot in the Wrecks, if they got flagged then hell most would be flying home in Pods.
They are completely safe in High sec...
Well, only about as "completely safe" as you are running the mission, if that.
Problem is easily solved in LoSec, by the way. * * * In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

People could avoid so much anxiety over this if they just would get it through their heads that loot and salvage are meant to have different rules, and that the salvage isn't their personal property until it's tucked away in their cargo hold. * * * In the beginning the Universe was created. Originally by: Dee Vour Salvaging is a highly profitable activity that should be protected, not made the new playground of criminals.
That's a brilliantly composed sentence, as far as rhetoric goes. Let's see what I can do to spin it differently:
Salvaging is a highly profitable activity that should be protected, and made the playground of a new profession: the Salvager.
Or...
Deadspace Salvaging is a highly profitable activity that should be protected, not made the exclusive new playground of mission runners.
I'm afraid neither one of mine quite roll off the tongue or engage the emotions quite like yours does, but they have the advantage of reflecting reality.
Fact: you can't very well call salvagers criminals when they are intentionally not flagged as such by the game, and the behavior is officially documented.
Question: what exactly did mission runners do to deserve the proceeds of such a profitable activity in addition to their loot, bounties, and standings increases? Answer: Nothing. Not until they activate their own salvaging modules. Simple and symmetrical, ain't it?
