Are minmatar commandships worth flying? I don't see many around... are they as bad as people say they are? Whats their average dps with top end skills.

Short answer: yes
Long answer:
Sleipnir: uber tank and massice dps.
Claymore: X Claymore (7 Skirmish links) anyone

come to 0.0 then... I see em being flown on a daily basis, almost in every roaming gang

i am in 0.0 :) do they do as much dmg as an astarte?

They are EXPENSIVE. But very good ships.

since that guy never replied, ill let you know that minny commands are AWESOME.
The slepnir is quite possibly the second best command ship in the game (Eos is first). The DPS on the slep makes the astarte look like a frigate.
Also, the tank is about as great as it gets... So in short, yes. get them =)

kool.. first im getting a nighthawk as i only need bc lvl 5 then ill plan on getting a minny command :D

IIRC Asarte is the king of dmg output among the CS Line. Can be wrong though but still Sleipnir doesnt use cap for shooting 
But im 100% you will NOT regret flying in a Sleipnir and when flying in a Claymore... well expect everyone wants you in their gang everytime you come online

Does anyone else hate people who evaluate command ships based on their theoretical dps against structure?
The claymore owns because it helps the gang a ton through gang mods.
The Sleipnir is a great ship because it tanks and ganks hard.

well, you wouldnt use a sleip for gang warfare links, but a sleip will give a nice tank+gank setup (5 meds + 5 lows will give a wonderful active tank (due to great resist-bonus) including ~2 Gyros.
using a claymore withOUT ganglinks will even give a greater tank (better base resit, additional med-slot), but much less damage (CS-bonus for claymore is tracking and ganglink-effectivness, for sleip its damage and falloff), also due to only four lows (a second gyro would hurt too much for most setups).
due to the very high basespeed of matari-ships, they are great for small gangs, and for these small FAST gangs, they have the greatest ganglinks (skirmish).
i will never fly them, but i like them!

Best DPS in-game has the Astarte by far with the Eos on close second - or Eos has the best ... either way the best DPS in the game the gallente commands have.
Sleipnir is not close range slugger. Sleipnir is a command that has a very good tank and should be treated like a slower Vagabond with a better punching power.
Not sure which has the highest dps between Sleipnir and the Absolution but they are quite close.
PS: Don't compare theoretical dps when it comes with the Sleipnir. Sleipnir will always fight in falloff at probably 14-15 km.
PPS: Claymore not gang links fitted has the 2nd dps in the game of all Fleet Commands. First is the Eos, then Claymore. Dps i think it is close to 450 if you use 3 Gyro's II. 330 from guns + 100 drom drones + 60-90 from launchers.
Though the Hurricane can put more guns and has dual damage bonus, the Claymore has a tracking bonus that makes it very nice combined with Hail M, and the 3 Gyro's + launchers more than make up for the difference.
Considering the t2 resists, the awesome tank it gets with a X-L C5-L, the fact that it sells for 66m and can be insured for 51m ... it's a great command to use. :)
Caldari are the plague of EVE, little whiners that must be cleansed from TQ. |
