Hey guys wanna fit my new ship with a small shield extender but it says I need to train a skill called upgrade shields but I cant find it in my skill list. Where and how do I get this skill? Thanks...

Skills need to be purchased in the form of skillbooks - they're usually sold in various places around the region you're in. Like was stated above, you need to buy, then train it; however, if you are just starting out, what do you need a shield extender for? Try and pick a specific area you want to improve in (mining, fighting, industry, navigation) and cocentrate on that. I'm still pretty noob myself :) --In times of strife and desperation, heroes are made of ordinary men... |

it's actually a quite useful mod for surviving those level 1 missions at low skills.
