On August 10th 2007 5:16 eve time, 13 FIX/MC and 7 IAC died today when they assaulted the IAC gate camp on the 25s gate in FAT.
While pounding away at BOSS POSs in 49- MC and fix decide to send some scouts over to FAT to see what we are up to. With out the numbers to help the POS, we took our 15 man fleet, with a mix of BS/BC, AS/Cruisers, and a dictor, out to grab some of the scouts and a small gank group roaming around the 25s/FAT area. We set up on the 25s gate in with a bubble set at all times. We nabbed one of the scouts and while we where catching flies FIX/MC where sending in reinforcements with a gang of about 15+ building out side FAT.
Well... after a bit they came in. I am flying a Nos Domi sitting right on the gate. Targets are locked bubble is up and drones are out. We start taking down targets one by one. Having been on the gate battling a Vagabond and a few other targets the battle things seemed to be going our way. We had bigger ships and where able to pick off support while they targeted a few wrong choices as our tanks held well, cutting our losses by quite a bit. Then it happened...
I was being targeted by most of the fleet (what was left of it) and looked like I was being called prime. Well having my targeting systems all jammed I had nothing to do but pump the hardeners on and let the armor rep do its job. My shields drop quickly but my armor at 75%-80% res to all damage held very well in comparison. I however was loosing this battle and my tank was slowly but surely failing me.
Having stopped my agro a while ago I start to try to jump into 25s. The hull starts to drop slowly as my armor rep kicks in to protect it every once and a while and my damage control is saving my butt here. They are still dropping slowly and having to devote their fire power on me has left many of us open to pick them off. Well its getting to crunch time my hull is at 20% and my cap is almost out and it wouldn't matter as I only have time for 1 more rep and I'm dead. I keep hitting the jump button but no go. 15%... 10%... a little armor. Still nothing. Time is running out here but it looks like we are winning. I feel happy that I helped where I could and I felt no regret in the short life my Nos Domi lived. I call out my death in gang chat and hit the jump button for the last time. It was built for battle and it will die holding the line... 8% hull and no armor or chance at an armor rep... And BOOM!
I'm in 25s :). Yes! I made it, with 8% hull and almost no cap! I jump to the station and dock safely. The battle ended before I completed repairs on my ship but in the end we held the battlefield and near double the kills and dealing around 800 million isk worth of damage with around 350 million isk in loses! (If anyone wants to recheck my numbers please do I'm a little tired and a little ripped right now :)

You may have got your ship out alive, but no doubt the damage ment that your avatar lost its body in the process. Now you are just a futurama head :)
Anyhow sounded like you had great fun, and the best fights are the ones where you survive on a knife-edge!
--SIG-- I am aware that my name means reproductive organ in another language, I bought this char for isk with that name without relising that. |

I remember getting out of one fight with 12 structure left on my apocalypse. That was a rush.
We are ruthless killers and loot everything we can. If you're lucky you may be re-attached some day.

Was the best battle I have seen in eve yet. Thank you MC and FIX for the great battle and I hope to see some more action around the same lines in the FAT/49- area. From what I saw this was a strait up fair fight and those are very rare in the eve battles I have fought. And better yet almost no lag as it was only a 30+ man fight not a 100+ man fight |

Pfft. 8-) Try this. Warp to a gate they ask you to warp to. Arrive to find you are the only blue on the field. Turn around and warp away from 0 on the gate...with 17% structure...in a Rohk. 8-) Good job mate!
