Hi all,
Since the patch the music and sound seem to be acting like a stuck record and just replaying the first note over and over. Has anyone got a fix for this?

goto start/run and type in dxdiag.exe and when it has finished loading click on the sound 1 tab and turn down hardware acceleration to No acceleration....then do that for the other sound tabs aswell.......it should fix your sound in Eve but you may get a little sound quality loss.....but hey......it worked for me

Thanks Alun.
Will it affect all other games as well?

It resets every time you restart your computer..well it does on mine so shouldn't affect anything.
Take comfort in knowing that its probably some pimply faced twit, or 40 year old virgin, who gleens everytime mommy offfers to take them to needle point lessons |

It's not supposed to reset when you turn your comp off......if that is the case then maybe your HDD is not able to save what it has in its cache before the comp actully powers down.....there is a patch on the Micro$oft website that you can download that will delay the shutdown process for 2 seconds so the info in the HDD cache can be saved to the actuall HDD itself before the power is lost.
Tomus........yes it will affect other games....the sound quality may not be asgood as usual....but you can alter it on the fly, so when you play a different game just turn it back up to full acceleration and then back down when just playing Eve.

Far as I remember doing that puts more work onto your CPU?
Its a workaround but still would like to see some acknowledgement that the devs are aware of the problem and working on it.

dont think it matters that much when you have got an xp3000+
but yes....the sound WAS ok b4 the PATCH.......another work around if your cpu cant handle the extra workload is to press ctrl-Alt-Shift+F12 to turn the sound off then press it again to turn sound back on.........BUT, on my comp it results in a major crash......never used to.........but there ya go

I have this problem and it started as a result of the new patch. Thankfully, if I log out and back in again it seems to correct itself. Also, since the patch, I no longer get a scroll bar on any windows that I open in game. I have to click on the window, use a scroll key on my keyboard, and then the scroll bar on the window miraculously appears.
What concerns me is that a "patch" is meant to rectify problems, not add to them. All these problems are small but, if every time a patch is released it is going to be a constant battle to configure one's PC, the desire to keep playing will be eroded over time. It could be argued I'm sure, that we should expect a little bit more for our monthly subscription. Come on CCP, this is basic stuff.

I had that stuttering problem but I assumed it was my hardware and eve not getting along (SB)
What I do is start something that uses directx sound. Like for example I start winamp (which is set to directx sound).
then when I start eve it tells me the audio device is in use and offers to use software audio (directx). Which I say yes too and eve works perfectly. No need to turn down hardware acceleration.
Eve should have these options built into the control panel if its built into the game anyway.

Yup, same problem here. Restarting the game ALWAYS cleans it up. Restarting the game again ALWAYS brings hte problem back again. Rince and repeat.
