usually the mod is stronger then the rig for the same bonus. in the case of nanofibers/polycarbons this isn't the case. as a result nanofibers are rarely used and polycarbons are wtf expensive.
buff nanofiber please ccp ____________ FEED me! You know you want to -all posts made on this character represent the views of my main's corp, alliance, as well as the views of everyone else in EVE and in the universe.- |

Well nanos used to do more then JUST decrease mass...
re balance ccp!
Originally by: Alski It depends how much CCP learn from past user interface mistakes, i'm sure they'll do very well, but if not i'll be right clicking on random people and selecting "Orbit at 0.5m"

They didn't actually use to decrease mass they boosted inertia + velocity

Well nanos could surely use a slgiht boost to match poly. Then at least astronautic rigs woudl drop in price a bit , dam shortage of allyed tritanium

Be careful what you wish for, they might nerf polys to the stats of nano2s instead.
But, yes, it is an inconsistency. So is that ODs give a 20% bonus and the rigs only 10%. And instabs also 20% and the rigs only 15%.

It is pretty unique actually. The mass reduction effect is the only one which is more effective in its rig than module form.

They should nerf polycarbons. That would be the logical thing to do. I dunno about you but 7k/s battleships is just... wrong.

Edited by: Shiken Kan on 11/08/2007 18:16:15 i almost don't dare to say this, but i agree with kagura
snakes make it a lil bit too easy for the ultra rich to fit bigger ships to speeds that they weren't intended for.

nerfing polycarbons is NOT going to solve the lack of demand for nanos. because in almost every situation, overdrives > nanos. people will just use agility rigs instead most of the time. the only logical solution is to buff nanos to make them usable.
the problem with extremely fast ships is snakes, not modules. instead of snakes making things ridiculously fast, now they have forced snakes to be the baseline for all fast ships and driven prices up more, and not fixed anything. ____________ FEED me! Please for the love of Jesus, Allah, Jehova, the Holy Trinity, Buddha, Messiah or by whatever name you call God...
Lets not boost any module that might benefit a nano-setup...I beg. ---------------------------------

The price of polycarbons has more to do with the fact that they share components with cargo rigs than anything else.
