Currently, caps generally use both their traditional cargo hold (and their corp hangar if in a carrier/mom) for fuel. Two problems with this.
1. Non-revelation dreadnoughts have to further limit their ammo supply so they can jump home. This just heightens the Revelation's ammo-less advantage.
2. Carriers/Moms have to move their fuel supplies about to get places. This isn't too much hassle, sure, but it seems an extra annoyance that could be rather painlessly done away with.
How about giving Capitals a fuel tank? Only the respective race fuels can be put in, and nowhere else in the ship can hold said fuel. Cargo holds can be shrunk slightly to keep the balance (but not too much!). Corp hangars are now used for what they were meant for - supplying allies in the field. Ammo-using dreads can now actually afford to dedicate their cargo holds to the ammo they so desperately need.
How big this fuel tank would be would obviously depend on how far devs want the ships to be able to move without requiring a refuel. Perhaps another Navigation skill that gives a bonus to the tank size would be appropriate?
Flame away if you like, I've not thought it through all that hard |

This would severly cripple POS fueling if you couldn't put any racial isotopes into your carrier's cargo/corp hangar.
Tho a fuel tank just sounds more logical than sucking it out of your normal hangar. Make it that only isotopes/stront in the fuel bay can be used for jumping/siege.

i do feel that the other dreads need a bigger hold for more fuel. as they have to make way for stront/fuel/ammo where as the rev = 3/6 m^3 for differnt ammo then basically a full hold for fuel/stront

Good point, I hadn't thought of that. |

Unless going on like a 4+ jump journey, fuel isn't typically a problem. The amount of ammo you can carry is typically relevant to the amount of strontium you can carry.
Interesting idea though.

This line made your whole argument fail TBH.
The Rev will always have the least fuel of any dread. Others carry 6+ cycles of stront, enough iso to get home and more then enough ammo for 10 cycles and them some while the Rev will have 3-4 cycles of stront.
