A YouTube video has what? 15fps? Which means that in 1 second, 15 frames go by, so one frame = 0.0666 seconds.
I'd estimate the distance from his face to the drum to be about 0.7 meters, meaning to not see the stick moving it would have to be going at 10.5m/s which is quite easily believable.
EDIT: I don't think it even hits his eye tbh... more gets lodged in his upper cheek- when he turns around away from the crowd you can see him holding it and its nowhere near his eye.
what he said.. might have been wrong about it hitting the eye.. I guess there would also have been more screaming involved if it had hit the eye.. I know I would have

also if your eye was dangling out, you wouldn't grab it by the nerve and have the bottom of your eye bulging out of your fist.
I dont know how anyone could think it was an eye to begin with.

Ok. I've changed my mind and it is a drumstick.
Had a doctor I know (and a few others besides but the doctor clinches it) look at the video. The doctor said the optic nerve bundle is not that long in a human so has to be a drumstick.
They did agree it took some thought and looked like a popped eye but could not have been.

They showed this video on Ebaums a while back and this exact same argument ensued there too.
I'll still stick to the drumstick myself. You can see it jabbing into the cheek.
You can see the stick in his right hand (left side to us) is missing a drumstick.
No a person would not be freaking out from that.
His eye is still in it's socket.
EDIT: Hell, the same damn argument is right there on the youtube forums

I felt ill watching that. It looked like the drumstick had somehow embedded itself into his cheek but then I read all the comments here about his eye coming out and I felt even worse, like I wanted to barf. I'm pretty sure it's a stick though like some of the others have been saying. Either way, 10 out of 10 for gross video of the week award.

It's the stick. Not his eye.
You can see that the stick in his right hand no longer has the white ball thing on the end, and given the quality of the video I think it's safe to assume that the ball thing coming out of his face is from the stick.
If you want to believe his eye flew out for no reason, sure, but I think the title of the video and common sense says it's the stick.
Wait. Not common sense. Common sense also says a stick can't get stuck in your face like that.
