As you can see in game I worked with my former CEO Jim Meillente several months in two corps, Interstellar Starshipwrights and Pirate Bounty Hunters. He took me from being a solo rookie into a multi role pilot.
Finally he showed his true colors. In the beginning of July he ordered us (directors) to stop attacking an alliance enemy and return to mine kernite. One director tried to explain to Jim what was going on but he would not hear it and declared a mutiny had occurred.
Jim proceeded to steal all shared (stuff owned by members made available to the members) and corporate assets within his reach. The total loss is estimated to be 15-20 billion. Most notable were 10 capital ship part BPO's, a large quantity of Zydrine and Megacyte, and several station containers of ore.
Jim Meillente effectively killed the corporation. When the dust settled, the job of CEO fell into my hands. Our leadership and financial backing was demoralized. I sold the remaining assets and paid a dividend to active members, based on rank and activity. This was a sad course to take but was best I saw.
Let this be a warning that Jim Meillente is a CEO corporation thief. He and his alts of Gallenteri and Gallenterian are not to be trusted.
I can say it killed my will to continue flying in space. Luckily he did not control my friends in the game who accepted me with open arms. Thanks to the Flaming Sideburns and Hedonistic Imperative I have found a new home, much better than Jim was capable of making. ---- Yo-con Die-foo-koo |

I was thinking that this was going to be a post worth mocking and then I read your losses.
Damn that's a significant loss and I'm guessing the ceo never planned it so it's just opportunistic and unskilled.
I agree I don't have the features to be a holoreel star. Most people have missed the point that this is Mobsters Online and that carebears are at the bottom of the foodchain. |

Typical. It's never a good idea to entrust someone with billions worth of assets , even if it's your CEO...
I suppose it doesn't happen as much in 0.0 corps because of alliances and the ease of locking down claimed systems to prevent stolen goods from being smuggled.

one thing is corp theft by a outsider infiltrating is a low shoot, but when a ceo rips off his members assets there is nothing that can justify his actions or others to say the corp members in this case "well your own fault fore trusting your ceo". no corp theft is more to be scorned than a corp/alliance leader stealing form his men

I'm all for scamming. I believe if you lose a couple million to hundreds of billions to a scammer is all fine & good. It was your fault, if you fall for scams you don't deserve your hard earned money.
Corp theft is different. Yes, its still a scam, but its not the same. When you join a corp you join a family for the greater good of all members. Then, when you steal from that family, its not simply a matter of tricking them & betraying their trust. Its disruptive to the cooperative game play of EVE. If as many corp members were trying to scam you as random neutrals in space corporations would quickly become cold and not nearly as friendly.
Corp Theft hurts EVE. Its even worse when its a CEO.

Just curious, but aren't you able to lock BPOs into hangars so people can't throw a tantrum and take them then and there?
That guy fails a life either way, but if he's going to have his corp mine kernite during a war, he sounds like he'd be a fun target.

Ouch, you have my Sympathy, as a corp I was in had the exact same thing happen, our CEO went postal after a disagreement with directors in a private forum, he removed everyones roles, booted us all from the corp and walked with all our assets which included our entire BPO collection, Corp Capital Ships, a T2 BPO investment fund and the corp wallet. Some of our more enterprising members were able to clear out some hangars and liberate ships form arrays at POSs by warping into the shields and ejecting them from the array. Within 24 hours the corp had reformed under another banner and is now stronger than ever. Karma is a funny thing though, his Rapier was popped and podded by one of our Vexor pilots within 24 hours of this all happening, he was scammed out of a Carrier and Freighter using the contract scam (Props to the individual who did that and major props for him letting us know)
This either breaks a corp or makes it stronger

With that sort of bizarre action, you might want to contact GM's and get them to check out if the account has been hacked or not. If anything, it will confirm whether it's the real person doing the theft or not.
My condolences anyway. I can understand corp infiltration especially when does as stylishly as the GHBC, but for a CEO to rip off his own corpmates who look up to him, that's pretty bad.

You would be surprised how many people make corps and then 5-7 months down the road they take everything and run. He might have had it all planned from the very begging.

No need for this, his behavior during and after the incident gives it away. He even faked selling his character. ---- Yo-con Die-foo-koo |

In my experience, any time you entrust anything worth a lot to someone else, there's a good chance you won't see it again.
Any corp that owns a lot in assets/collected isk runs the risk of the CEO cleaning you out when enough is enough.
IMO, only practical use for a corp hanger is ammo, drones and cheap t1 neccessities.

Yeah it's the oldest trick in the book but this doesn't sound like it was planned (but you never know).

If the CEO has the shares then he owns all the assets of the corp. You are all simply employees. If you put your own items into the corp hangers then you are giving them to the shareholders.
Yea it sucks. You should have split the shares up, then you would have some rights. You could have locked down the bpo etc.
Corp theft is terrible. I know what you are feeling. A director of my old corp quit eve and deleted his charater, but forgot he had all my researched BPO in his hanger. He was moving them for me. (Or so he tells me, lol) :(
