Hi,
I'm probing lots of moons below 0.4 space and I can't find for example Tungsten or Platinum. Could it be like asteroids that they are bound to Regions or parts of EVE?
Can anyone please give me a system name or region where to find these materials?
Thanks for your help! |

Moons are indeed random.
When the first person surveys a moon it is checked against the table and moon is then "set" for that material. Someone else comes along and surveys, they get that result. Being the first to survey no matter where it is, has a chance to generate the "type" of material that will be found there. There is no regional types. I've found dysp in a 05, and nothing in 0.0's..
Also, the test server has different moon types, being that you can't go to test and survey a moon somewhere and expect the same type to be on tranq..

No, you can only mine moons in .3 and lower.

You can only moon mine in 0.3 and below.
The moon minerals were not generated 'the first time' someone probes them.
The devs just ran a script that populated all moons with moon mins, this was done 3 times, once for TQ, once for SISI (so yes probing moons on the test server won't help you on TQ) and once for their dev server.....
It would seem as if all mins have a chance of appearing, but that doesnt' stop some regions from having dozens of tungsten moons and only one titanium moon etc (or no scandium moons).

All moons have Mins? When did this happen? I just had some one rescan a system and there are definitely some moons that don't have mins.

I disagree with this assertion. I have a complete scan for the Deklein region, there are absolutely no Hafnium or Mercury moons in the entire region(and it's a pretty big region). That screams "region limited" to me. ---- AUS Corp Lead Megalomanic |

Yep. No Mercury or Hafnium in Cloud Ring or Fade either. Pity really.

I found little Mercury in The Bleak Lands, Tararan. Just one moon though.

its not random ! Its pretty much region dependent as asteroids. cheap moon mins can be found frequently everywhere (e.g. evaporite deposites => veldspar) while expensive moon mins are limited to certain regions (e.g. mercury => arkonor , only in the south)
im am not certain about drone regions but for the rest its region dependent for the rare moon mins ________________________________________________ Some days i loose, some days the others win ... |
