Edited by: Anguz on 03/02/2004 10:11:18 Edited by: Anguz on 03/02/2004 10:10:59 Hi
Here is a list of things I think is missing in the EVE univers:
- Comets - Galaxies in the distance - Moons or other orbiting objects arround a planet, just like saturn and such - more debris flowding arround, from all those ships that explodes ..heh - AN MORE OMBER, I CANT FIND ANY

Comets would be pretty awesome to see. - There are galaxies in the distance... Some of the little white dots are. - There are moons... there are also dust clouds... Or are you talking about structured rings with moons in the breaks?
There will be some more structured rings when planetary asteroid fields come around sometime this year. (Check out the videos section)
As for active orbits... Not sure if they will come into place, though it would be cool. - Debris floating around would cause problems... I think... - Asteroids are now region specific, jump to some different regions and see if you can find any. -
I think this would have been better placed in the Idea Lab...
Cya around the universe!

Now that sounds interesting. Do you mean that asteroid belts will actually full circle a planet or moon?
And what video are you talking about, would love to see it.

Edited by: Qutsemnie on 07/02/2004 19:26:28 The average galaxy that can be seen from any particular position in another galaxy looks like a star with the naked eye flying around a galaxy wouldnt change that because your making relatively minute changes to intergalatic distances even hoping from star system to star system.
Galaxys ARE FAR.
Breath taking mind boggling far away.
Specifically (cause im bored) it takes light 24 minutes to do 3 au http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&safe=off&q=3+au%2Fc
since you do 3au in one second you should be able to divide the distance to the nearest galaxy by 24 minutes and thats how many seconds it would take you to travel there at 3au.
So how close is our nearest galaxy. http://www.universetoday.com/am/publish/closest_galaxy_discovered.html 42000 lightyears away is the nearest galaxy to our game galaxy. (yet discovered)
Dividing 42000 years by 24 minutes we get 885,355,404 which would be the number of seconds it takes you to travel there at 3 au a second.
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&safe=off&q=42000+years+%2F+%283+au%2Fc%29
Thats 28.05 years at 3 au a second to get to the nearest galaxy.
Anyway. Im just saying they are to far for flying around different solar systems to make them bigger.

Don't forget though that EVE is not the Milkyway and could therefore in theory be much closer to a neighbouring galaxy than we may realise making it to be easier to see.
Anyway it cant hurt to add some more decoration to space can it.

Maybe when they expand the EVE universe, somebody can build some large jumpgates into globular clusters near some galaxies.
Globular Clusters are one of the only ways we would be able to see the spectacular galactical view of images from hubble, for example. Being a globular cluster, means the stars are very old, probably first generation, meaning there would be a lower percentage of binary systems, and hence, no way to travel to them using the current jumpgate technology.
There are some exceptions, nebulae can also appear outside of a galaxy, while rare, this would provide a large garden of gas, and in turn, many binary systems. It would be cool to have.
BTW, the current EVE universe is definitely in a galaxy, because of the amount of points of light, while not all are galaxies, if it was outside of a galaxy, there wouldn't be nearly as many stars.
/me feels quite geektastic.

You're missing an e for sure and also have you not checked your systems?!
There are plenty of moons as well as planetary rings.

The current dust clouds are not really rings, they have no structure.
Afaik, there are no structured rings anywhere yet, look at vid, or the image for 'The Breakout' in EVE Chronicals.

Current estimates for the milky way are 100-600 billion stars.
Mmmmm sexy.

There is omber out there... but by the time you find it you will be already mining better stuff.
I roleplay... there is this computer game called "Earth - The First Genesis" where i play a character in the early 21st century. |

Omber....Minmatar space is lousy with the stuff in .5 and lower systems. Just look around a bit.
