Hi Folks,
I am looking to move into 0.0 to do some belt ratting and want a ship that is self sufficent. I thought the Dominx is a good choice however I have no idea of how to fit it to 0.0 Ratting (I usually fly a Raven).
I want the setup to be as cheap as possible while still being able to pop battleship spawns (I have Gallente BS 3 BTW) and I want to stick to drones as my damage output as it means less time heading to a station getting more ammo.
Also while I am at it if I set this thing up in empire what is the best way to get a ship down the various pipes into 0.0?
Cheers for the help.

Honestly, there is no "safe" method....Most 0.0 corps I am aware of have everyone who isn't 'blue' (alli, or friends) designated as kill on sight.
Certainly, if you are going to 0.0 with a domi, you should have a scout.
To make it worth losing the domi, you'd need to kill 60-70 1mil rats before you die. So, please don't use it on your first foray into 0.0 space. Use something fast and much less costly.
Best way is to join a corp based on 0.0.

Best way to move a ship from empire into 0.0 is to move in a group with a scout moving ahead. There's no safe alternative for a solo player, except maybe using two accounts at once and having the second account scout.
Those threads linked in an above post are probably good sources of good setups. My setup for the 0.0 ratting Dominix, although incomplete at the moment, is...
Low: 2x Large Armor Repairer, 3x Armor Hardener, 1x Damage Control (or Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane), 1x Capacitor Power Relay. Medium: 1x 100MN MicroWarpdrive, 4x Cap Recharger. High: 1x Drone Link Augmentor, whatever else I feel like fitting (guns, nosferatu, salvagers, etc). Drones: Almost everything, preferably tech 2 with an emphasis on the damage type that is most effective against the rats I expect to find. ---

Edited by: Raeff on 13/08/2007 17:12:59 couple tips for ratting in 0.0 if you dont own space where you are going:
1) imp cloak II 2) MWD 3) scout your route in a frig/ceptor first!(park your BS at the entrance system so you can grab it if its clear, but remember that can change extremely quickly so you gotta move FAST) 4) never rat on the main path .. use the map and scout a destination(somewhere where nobody ever goes) 5) always keep your local chat window up and visible or you WILL die 6) know your rats and plan your setup ahead of time .. you dont want to get out there and your ship cant tank the npcs good enough

2x heavy unstable 2x heavy diminishing Cloak Drone Link
Afterburner 4x Cap Recharger II
Large Armor Repair II 3x Rat Specific Hardeners 2x CPR Explosive Hardener, unless the rat specific is explosive in which case make this a DC II.
