Account: Linicarn
my Character was purchased by Luxo,
Squeakz was the character.
We organised to pay 2.5 billion up front then 2.5 billion on transfer of character.
On saturday when this character was to be transferred i had to pop out to work and then a real life emergency occured.
I was unable to get online to contact the buyer or post on the forums about the delay.
I have come back today which is 2 days after the fact and find that my account has been banned because someone called me a scammer.
Im sorry i am unable to sit and play this game 24/7 and that real life emergencies take priority.
just wish GM's of this game wouldn't be so hasty and get the full details before just banning someone.
I have previously sold another one of my characters last week which went perfectly, character was transferred and isk was recieved.
But because i couldn't get to my computer to transfer my lastest character sale i was banned.
This just isn't good enough, i am a legit player trying to enjoy this game which i am paying for, and yet the real scammers all run free in the forums and arn't banned.
I would like my account unbanned in the next 8 hours so i can complete the transaction if the buyer still wishes to continue. if not i would like to continue using the character.
thanks
Hayden/Squeakz

Maybe you could try posting more emails and account names, that might work!

So let me get this straight: you took 2.5 billion from another player after making a binding agreement on the Bazaar forum, then failed to deliver the character as requested or contact the buyer in a reasonable amount of time.
And then you wonder why you got banned? It's impossible for anyone who doesn't have telepathy to distinguish this from a scam.
Your best bet is to contact the buyer and get them to petition your banning, explaining your situation to them. If they don't believe you, you're sore out of luck.

If you entered into a contract to sell another player a character, then its your responsibility to keep your end of the agreement, if there was an unavoidable delay then you should have sent a quick eve-mail to the buyer to let him know, not just left him hanging for 2 days, no wonder he thought he was being scammed.
The reason GM's jump so quickly is because there is so much scamming in eve, so they try and limit the damage that a scammer does by shutting them down as quick as possible before they can do it again.
To be honest, the forums are the wrong place for this complaint, it's against forum rules to question account bans or moderation on here, the best thing you can do is create a petition to the GM's explaining the situation and why it took 2 whole days after the intended sale, for you to contact the buyer....

Because you are a scammer, you were transfered a character for half of what you were going to pay for it.

thanks for all the blatent remakes about calling me a scammer.
I moved the character i was selling to an NPC station in 0.4 sec with my Dreadnaught ready to sel.
Last week i sold another of my characters he paid isk i transferred character.
please note: scammers don't transfer characters they just take the isk.
I had an emergency at the time i was speaking with the buyer, and to cover himself the deal was 2.5 billion upfront then 2.5 billion on delivery of the character that way if anything happened i could transfer the 2.5 billion back and he won't lose anything.
I have arrived back onto the net to contact the buyer to apologise for the delay and the reason, the day i was speaking to him i had to log out and go immedialty as he will note when i said
"i have to go to work now man ill contact you on my return something has come up"
then i logged off, i haven't been near internet or a computer for 2 days, so posting here saying i should have eve mailed or posted on forums isn't going to help but thanks anyway since i would have done that if i had internet access and a computer.
i am more than happy to give back the 2.5 billion that was paid to me or continue the transaction of the character sale, as i tried to login the website today to transfer the character and i couldn't
i have contacted the CCP about the whole thing.
And i would like it if u kept your comments to your self, i am not a scammer in any form never have never will.
I have successfully sold previous characters with no problems at all.

Edited by: Celestal on 13/08/2007 02:57:37 well its quite simple really , explain to the purchaser the facts ( dont need to give him details if the crisis was personal ).
Then contact the GM`s or Kieron and explain the circumstances , they are entitled to get some details/verification to sort it out . People do have lives outside eve and any reasonable person understands that there may be real life emergencies/incidents that are more important then Eve.
By the same token you must understand that an established part of playing eve is scamming in game , some people fail to differentiate between in/out of game scamming . CCP have declared that character trade scamming is not acceptable and will be persued vigorously ( real money is involved , and a real crime of fraud may be committed ). The agreement you made was to transfer the character after 24 hours ( and possibly on reciept of a further 2.5bill ? ( i saw the trade )).
CCP shutting down the account when it was apparent the agreement was not fulfilled was the correct action , I t limits the isk being laundered and further damage being done . I think CCP should be applauded and it gives me more confidence in character trades.
If you are being honest , the only people you need to convince are the GM`s , once they are convinced I am sure it will be sorted satisfactorily . Coming to the forum at this stage really wont help .

That is basicly it. To avoid the 2.5b magicaly disappearing into the eve market. They ban your account, freezing it for investigation might be a better term for them to use. To avoid any damage being caused. In theory the GM's now upon receiving notification from you about the situation should check if the other part still wish to carry on the transaction. Hence both will be happy, despite the missunderstanding.

Edited by: DubanFP on 13/08/2007 03:16:57 1) Talking about GM actions on this board is against rules and will probebly get this thread locked.
2) There's no way to tell you aren't just saying that after the fact because CCP banned your account. All in all you're probebly $#@#ed. _____________
