Ok, this just happened to me too.
CCP, you got to realize how frustrating this is for people. I was in the middle of fun... but the mental change that happened when all my settings got lost went from "Content" to "Eve has lost its shine". THis is totally the type of thing that triggers people into cancelling their subscriptions.
I hope you guys fix this soon.
Um. I am not going to bother filing a bug report. I pay you to do that, dont I? I know this sounds adolescent but while I do have plenty of time to play internet spaceships... I do not have time to learn how to file a "good bug report" that will probably just... be ignored.
Apparantly "Hunter" has been working on this for 5-6 months now? Awesome.
Very frustrated, CCP.

i had that problem that settings didnt save but then i checked my computer clock and it was set to 2007.. dunno how but after i changed it to 2008 settings are saved again and evemon works again :P

So, settings... all that is toast for me.
But also I am unable to talk in any of my chat channels. All desync'd or something. Nobody hears me and I cant see what I type.
This part of the same problem? Im assuming it is since it happened at the same time. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

EVERY time I undock, my overview panel moves back under the drones panel, my overview settings are back on default. When I form a fleet, my fleet panels are all back to default locations.
I don't want to file a bug report. Stop gacking up my EVE client with your bugs!

I just deleted everything and reinstalled Eve. It still does muy mal with the panels. And my Windows date settings are fine. And I hate this!!

BOO ******* HOO. CRY ME A ******* RIVER. I can't even get my game to appear correctly because CCP nuked my screen resolution. My market quickbar is borked and doesn't work worth a damn. Oh, and I lost all my settings from before the patch. I've also lost my ENTIRE settings two patches ago. I lost them sometime last fall. Oh no, my overview isn't working right! Oh well, this STICKY just shows CCP only cares about select demographics of EVE. Oh, and by the way, my overview is screwed too. |

been having this issue repetedly (altho not consistantly)
running vista and using multiple accounts.
one thing I have noticed is occasionaly vista pops up and asks me to allow thre bootstrapper to run on startup - if i do let it settings are normally nuked
if i cancel and retry it often goes in without asking and all is well.
possibly another issue but this has happend a lot since the last 2 patches.

Both of my computers that I run Eve on (one is a PC running XP, the other is an IMAC running OSX) will no longer remember where my drone, fleet, and voice windows go. I've tried unpinning/pinning in various combinations but they will not stay where I put them. They always end up spawning on top of my overview which is VERY annoying.
I didn't have this problem before the last patch.

Has ccp made any update annoucments about this probem? They need to give post on the progress of fixing the problem. For all we know is that they dont know how to fix the problem. Its really getting annoying evertime I dock and undock to fix my overviews. I am running vista and tried some of the fixes in the thread here but still no good. They need to address the problem or keep us update. At this rate I might have to take my money somewhere else.

I have seen this bahavior the 2 last patches for me.
I have 2 computers and sometimes I press the [Start EVE] and my settings are gone so I press [Finish] on the other computer and than on that computer all is ok.
Confirmed !
I had the same problem as everyone else.I tried de-installling / re-installing EVE but this time without firing it it up and just finished the installation.
This solved it ppl , i suggest to anyone to try this.

Everybody check the date your computer is set to. That was the problem I was having. Once I fixed the date, my settings stayed saved.

Yep, that's correct. The rest of the blurb here seems to be mostly incorrect or "red herrings" I had the same problem for a month, it happened AFTER I had a BIOS problem on my PC. I read this thread after trying all the usual reinstalls and :/end stuff. Then I checked my PC time and date and the month was "off"
sorted the right date out and hey presto it works.
End of.
Check your dates guys :-) no need for anything else, and some nice guy DID say this on page one btw.

Friend, im glad that the problem was solved for you because you had incorrect system date... however, I have correct date/time settings, and I constantly face the problem. So the fix what you think is a savior just worked for YOU. The bug still exists and not, I repeat - not related to the system date.

Same here, Date setting fix is not a fix for most us. The date on my PC is still correct.
This is the 3rd or 4th time in my two years of playing that this has happened.
It is infuriating, and seems to happen for no reason what so ever....
I have no idea how to fix this "feature" except to spend a hour or so sorting them out.
There must be an easy fix and avoid this problem.... come on someone please sort it out. |

I was having this Issue , I was going nuts , after reading alot of post , i saw hat some one fixed By reseting there date time as it got messed up. I did this and Bam it was fixed.

My date and time are fine.
I have had my settings completely wiped at least three times (altho once was in connection with most recent patch). Its really frustrating.
Most recently: I had 2 accounts running, closed first account - no probs; closed second account and computer immediately went to Blue Screen of Death (BSOD). It auto-rebooted, and the error file was corrupted as well.
Now, on restarting Eve, my settings files are gone.
Its really really annoying. Takes a lot of time to reset those up ....
