I would like to know if anyone else names there computer tower or anything. My last comp died on me and i had called it titan rig mk1
so do any of your name your towers?

because i'm a sad bastard, i seem to end up naming them after sci-fi computers.
i currently have HAL (space oddessy) and Holly (red dwarf).

some people find it weird and wrong to play a girl character if you are a guy. me? it's people that name their computers. freaks

The first was named by my G/F when i first bought my own machine. The name has stuck ever since. When I got to adding "the 3rd" no number above that sounded as good!

Im also trying to find a name for my new comp heres some specs
antec 900 case
Quad core intel
4 gigs of ram
8800gtx sli'ed
500gb hdd
i was thinking of naming it after the ACU from supcom but im open to any other sugjestions

I take it you are not aware of the fact that ACU goes Skynet on everyone at the end of/beginning of SupCom/Forged Alliance?

Generally it gets called "you ******* *******", as its in a steel server cube case, and is particularly sore when I drop it on my foot.
Other than that, no, it doesnt ahve a name, aside from its Workgroup name obviously.

I generally don't name my main computer unless I put it on a network, if so I tend to name it after myself. This one's called crudbox because it was a ***** to get it running properly. Not very appropriate right now, but it's bad to change names, mkay?
For other machines I tend to pick silly RL Swedish names and/or combine names for an even stupider end result. There's usually at least one "gregolf" (greger+rolf) when I'm around as I find that the fugliest and most hilarious name by far. Also it usually makes other people go "WTF?" when they see it - bonus!
My next server will probably be called Tord-Yngve.

I usually just enter something somewhat randomly into the network name selection...
I think my server used to be named Kestrel for a while... and the main comp Cerberus...
After I get the 8 fans I ordered (at a total cost of approx. Ç100) I'll probably call it Dammsugaren though (swedish for the vacuum cleaner). Or I could start calling it that immediately, because all of them except 1 are just replacing existing fans.

My computers name is Atheneum, my 250 gig HD is Galatea and my 500 gig HD is named Actaea. I tend to rename everything every few months with a new theme, just to keep it interesting.
