I sold a Noble zet1000 last night for 19m (I missed out a digit when adjusting the sell order price). Do I loose Eve?
Would anyone else care to provide details of any expensive mistakes made during buy or sell orders? I might help in placating my urge to do something crazy, such as becoming a pirate or selling 7m ISK shuttles.

I sold some ship, can't remember which, for 140.000 ISK instead of 14.000.000 ISK once.

I can't talk for you, but I remember myself in my early days selling 100k zydrine for 376 isks/unit instead of 3760 (this was an average price these days).
I sent an eve-mail to the lucky buyer not asking him to give me the cash back, as it was my mistake, but explaining him what happened and telling him to not laugh so much at me.
After a few seconds wallet blinked and I had the cash back.
As everywhere, you can find people of all kinds in EVE, and maybe you are luck and the buyer is a nice guy and fixes the thing giving you the extra cash. If not, well... I'm sorry, it was your mistake.

Never made a mistake, but probably only because of the green/red text when entering a sell order. That has saved me lots of times.

Buy orders are the worst. Meant to modify the price of some alloyed trit bars and change a 1 to a 2. Added the two and instantly spent about 200m isk...there was ahouting and swearing...thank god the buy order was small !

1. Set up a sell order.
2. Miss out a decimal point.
3. Pay 20 mill ISK in tax.
4. Swear lots.
5. Alter order.
6. Wait several days.
7. Goto 1.

The funniest thing just happened to a mate of mine a few weeks ago though.. he wanted to sell some 60k Bane Torps and instead of typing 340 ISK or whatever he wanted he typed 340'000 ISK which made the total order-value gigantic.. now that would be fine and all but as you may know you have to pay broker fee (which you don't get back even if you cancel the order) and i think he payed something in the region of 92 mil ISK for his mistake  well.. learning is expensive i guess
the "best" mistake i ever made use of was some poor dude that sold a DG invul field for some 25mil instead of 250mil... must have sucked.. i was quite amazed that i didn't get a convo asking me to return the item.. i think i might have actually returned it to him if he had been friendly and made his case well enough. |

Someone filled a buy order of mine for 2 apocs once (buy order of 90mil).. selling both for 9mil a pop, i smiled :o

I once got a couple of hookbills for a fraction of their market price and made 40m. I once got a pack of true sansha reactor control units for the price of one, and got a free upgrade to my mission running raven while selling the excess units. I don't think I've actually made a mystake in pricing, not with anything important, but I frequently put out contracts that don't get picked up and the taxes eat away my margins...
I am very weary of the market interface

It's typing all the frakkin' 0's thats the problem.
If we just had a dropdown box of "Billion", "Million", "Thousand", and "Hundred" it'd make life a lot easier.

I have made a number of mistakes myself, but I particularly remember a poor soul buying a military connections skill book from me (back when they were around 50-60mil) for a very reasonable 590 million isk.
(And to clarify it wasnt priced at that amount, it was buyers error)

I was drunk on christmas day I think it was and had gone back to empire for some celebrations figured I;d give salvaging a try bought what I thought was 3 salavgers for 120k each but instead bought 3 salvage rigs for about 120 mil each, they were pretty new back then but 120 ml was still overpriced managed to sell them back on though but had to take a loss. this was just after I lost a diemos lol i a level 2 mission when I forgot I was doing a mission and went pvp on my other character.

The market of Citadel lists a sold Phoenix for 1.600.000 isk. I think thats quite a good deal, i¦d also buy them for the double price is someone wanna sell one.

I recently sold 22 mackinaws for 12.5mill each - adjusting a sell order from 130mill to 125mill only to see them all snapped up by those chance buy orders that people have to catch just these kind of mistakes.
Nice thing was, one guy evemailed and sold 4 back to me for the same price. Another guy, having congratulated me for not smacking him for being a scammer, told me to go petition CCP to fix this 'bug' - but didn't give the ships back :P
Regardless, it's a very easy mistake to make.

Nearly got caught out on a WTB contract scam recently. Saw a WTB contract for a navy apoc for what I thought was just 4.4 bil (actually 44 mil), and on contracts also I saw a navy Apoc and a couple of t2 beams for 800mil. Very nearly bought and sold a navypoc wasting serious amounts of isk.
