nikyniak	Posted - 2007.08.15 06:42:00 - [1] Tonight I made my first successful pirate attempt. I entered a .4 system in a merlan with one other in local. He convoed me asking me if i wanted the key to the rat complex he was in, i said sure and warp to the complex. When I arrive he jets the key then warps off. I note he was in a Thrasher. First I'm thinkin he warped to the gates gettin ready to log, and I was going to miss my chance, but it turns out he warped to the belts and continued ratting. I find which belt he went and ask him if i can rat with him because i don't feel like doing the complex, he says sure and gangs me. Well now all i had to do is close range. I get withing 4000m then lock him as hes busy collecting loot. I hit the scram and all weapons, at first no response, I just blast his shield away, then he starts to fire back, but my shield booster proves able, along with cap charges. I convo him and try to ransom, he refuses so I promptly destroy his ship. The loot mostly ammo, with some worthless equipment, though a tech II small shield was in there. So now I'm excited can't wait to get the loot to a station, so I entered High-Sec. Forgot the little 15 minutes countdown and promptly got concorded, and loot completely destroyed. All well I learned a lesson at least

Sahjahn Caldari Black Wolves	Posted - 2007.08.15 08:21:00 - [4] Been there done that, as i don't pirate that often I often forget about the agro timer, and even warp to a gate in something small like a frig or I jump into high sec. depending on the system you may get chance to get back to gate, but high sec sentries guns hits very hard and concord won't be long.

You'll find pretty quickly that whilst it's fun there is often no point to attacking a chap in a frig who is in a belt ratting. It's very very very very unlikely he'll drop anything of worth.
