Hello everyone,
I played eve ways back, and decided to come back. :) I got a slight problem; I can't seem to find a scan feature I use to use. ItĘs been away since I played; maybe this option is in a different area. I don't remember the name of this feature, so I will explain the best that I can.
It was some kinda scan feature, which you could open the window up really big. It the right or left corner of the menu you had like a little radar type circle. In this window, you could scan a whole area (i.e. astro belt and you could see all the rocks/pirates in the belt area and how far they are from you.)
I looked high and low, but still no go. :P . I found a scanner feature if you do crtl+f11, but it looks nothing like the older one I remember. Plus went I do a scan; I can't see the different rocks in the belt to mine and such. I only get a few local people that are near.
If I can find an old screenshot of way back I will post it, but am sure an older eve player will remember this kinda feature. It was kinda like advanced overview scanner thing.

just to the left of your grid area, move your mouse over the buttons, one of them is scan

You are referring to the old system radar where you used the on board scanner and you did see all the system?
It has been divided in 2 different features, the "directional scan" and the "solarsystem map".
Directional scan has all the scanning features of the old scan, the system map has some better and some worse feature than the old map.

Ahh okies :) .. But in the new one, I wish I could scan a belt and see all the ore rocks in the scanner :(
Feels kind of strange to look at two different menus to get the same info. :/

You cannot see a list of rocks or rats in a belt without going there anymore. Devs have said that was never the intention of the directional scan, and won't come back. If you want to know what is in a belt, fly there and look.
