Hey everyone!
Quick question. I finaly gained the ability to do level 3 missions. I'm running a BC, well equiped for PvE. Jumping over to level 3 missions is alot harder than I expected it to be. The first mision I tried. "The Blockade" (For Cald Navy) I couldn't even touch. I brought a couple friends with me in another BC and Crusier and all of us were almost destroyed in a matter of minutes. Is the jump between levels that bad? Or did I just get a bad mission to start off with?
Thanks Nangisan

You got a bad starting mission :) I got the Angels Extravaganza mission when i passed from Lvl2 to Lvl3 and that a though one also, i would sugest getting a BS for the Lvl3¦s and start checking the damage dealt by that mission on Eve-Info, only when i passed to Lvl3 i learned the value of resists. Rev 2 nerfed my signature %) |

I actually just sold my BS. I thought because alot of the Enemies were destroyers, crusiers, frigates etc that it wouldn't do the trick. I had it equiped with Torps and they wouldn't even put a dent on the lvl 3 missions. They made a nice expolision though :S.

Totally disagree with the recommendations to use a battleship for lv3 missions. As you said lv3 missions have no BS rats, so unless you are in a drone ship a BS is not the best ship for lv3.
The blockade is one of the harder lv3 missions, but in general you should be able to complete any lv3 mission in a properly fitted BC. Because you said that you couldnÆt complete this mission with 2 BCs and a Cruiser, I assume you need some mission fitting help, so here goes:
1)Chose rat-specific, active hardeners over more hp/blanket hardeners. In general, you want to get your resistances to over 80% for the damage types the rats deal. 2)Train to fit a T2 tank. If you armor tank, you need to train to fit a T2 armor repper. If you tank with active shields, you should train to fit a T2 shield booster. This will make all the difference in the world. 3)DonÆt mix tank types. If you choose armor tank, donÆt try to buff your shields too. Focus on one tank type only. 4)Choose ammo that the rats are weakest against.
For blockade, another important tactic is to save the ôtriggerö rat in each wave for last. Every wave has a rat (generally the largest ship with the highest bounty) designated as the trigger. When he goes pop, the next wave triggers. If you are not careful with this, you can get multiple waves pounding you at once, and that can be a very difficult situation.
Also some of the frigs in blockade will scramble. (this is true for lv4 blockade. IÆm not 100% sure if it applies to lv3 as well). You want to keep an eye out for these scramble frigs and kill them first. Then stay aligned with a warpable object and be ready to warp out and repair if things get bad.
