you havent actually given any information, so its impossible to tell what your problem. detailed information about your setup and what is happening helps.
personaly, id suggest running bootcamp instead if you can.

sorry, your right we haven't. I'm not an alt I'm a friend.
basicly we finally got it installed running thinking it was on windows 2000. but it wants DX9... how do you run eve without DX9? I mean you open the clinet and it cn't find DX3D. And you can't install it.
well basicly were moving to bootcamp for better luck.
hopefully.
we posted hoping someone else would just know how to make it work. or most importantly had a link or something.
oh well to bootcamp! ----------------------------------- I'm working my way through college target CCP

My advice, stay the hell away from anything other than bootcamp.
Parallels is way to slow (runs OSX and XP at the same time, who clever idea was that?), crossover I've barely heard of, and the archaic Virtual PC is well... archaic. Bootcamp is available for free (well the beta anyway, perfectly stable) and is only a 450mb D/L.
Don't forget though, you need an Intel based Mac to run it

Well, if you meet or exceed the minimum requirements for EVE, it will run just fine. And cause you have an Intel Mac, that tells me that it was probably made in the last 1-2 years, which probably means EVE will work just fine.
As for DX9, if you have XP it's already on there, if you have anything older than that, check out M$'s website and see if you can D/L DX9.
Dumbledore returned from the dead and declared it hammertime, harry proceeded to break it down and Voldemort can't touch him. |

This is how I did it:
1. Install Crossover. 2. Go to the Add Programs menu. EVE should already be there in the list - you shouldn't need to select a manual installation. 3. Run the installation process (it's built into Crossover) 4. Run EVE with /end /LUA:OFF to force it to use the cache and settings folders in its home directory (rather than letting it much around with My Documents) 5. Make sure that you don't have EVE Voice enabled. EVE Voice can wreck EVE on the Mac (no clue why). If you do have it enabled on your account, there's a command that you can add to your prefs.ini to disable it. ----- That glorious ship is a Templar-class fighter, the sword of light and purity which our carriers shall drive into the hearts of the Minmatar heretics! |
