I'm starting my alt down the road of R&D agents but since he has no standings with any corps, i'm wondering if there is any benefit with one corp over another (along with the related research skill). Judging from buy orders though on Datacores, it seems Mechnical Engineering goes for the most. --------------- This sig has been censored in fear of recieving the ban hammer... |

This is true at the moment but expect a flood of mech Eng cores on the market in a week or 2.
Many researchers are switching to mech eng, especially Gallente. I just changed 2 of mine to Lvl 4 agents. had to grind up a Minmatar agent to do it but only took a week or so. Upshot of that will be a shifting of prices in the near future, down for ME and up for some of the abandoned subjects. ---------- Gallente and Minmater Faction standings transfer service, fast and efficient service, Eve-mail for info, |

As ME are the most used, I think they will stay higher than the rest of the datacores for a long time.

I think that the most costly, at term, will be the hydromagnetic ones: quite a few usefull mods need them, and afaik there's only one decent lv4 agent in that field, the others are crap agents. ------------------------------------------

Don't worry, once the Mechanical prices crashed, the whine squad will move on to hydromagnetics.
The precedence was made, now CCP has to live with it. Might as well give every agent every field. -- [17:47] <Mephysto> its dead, jim |

Because I don't read the forums as often as I should, I just recently learned that my R&D agents will no longer produce any T2 BPOs for me. I took the time to get to the point where I could have 5 Level IV R&D agents working for me.
This, of course, coincided with the crash in the price of Datacores, so I've really wasted a whole lot of time. I'm not sure I understand why the R&D lottery was any less fair than exploration or invention. Any way you look at it, it's going to be the more experienced players who get the BPOs, right?
Naturally, only one of my R&D agents knows Mechanical Engineering, so even selling ME datacores is not that great a deal.
Can anyone explain what I'm supposed to do with my Research Project Management skill and all the RP I've gained? Should I even bother to do those little courier missions the R&D agents ask for?
I guess I'm going to be giving up the R&D business to get into Exploration and Invention, but those both seem to be much more chance-based than the lottery. I thought this game was supposed to reward experience and work.
I don't mean to be complaining, because it's all great fun for me, but I'd like some advice on how to leverage the time I've put into R&D. thanks.

The missions are all very fast, I usually check them out when I am in the neigborhood anyway, and keep a healthy stock of trit at their stations, but I make no effort to make sure they are done each day.
You just keep cashing in every once in a while, when you find the payoff worth the trip.
Invention is much better than the old lottery, it makes room for a lot of extra players in the t2 market, hence the drastic drop in t2 prices.
The lottery basicly gave an ISK printing machine to a chosen few, if you got lucky you could print hundreds of billion a year with NO risk at all.
