Gunnery, pick arty or A/C and do the med specialization to lvl 4/5. and all the supporting gunnery skills.
SH skills are a must, it makes a great SH tank/arty ship, with 720II's you destroy ships like no tomorrow at 35-45 km.
Convo me in game for more details..

How do you determine if a ship is a SH or armor tank. I am in the same boat, starting to train up to fly a kickass Hurricane then Phoon. I kinda thought it was based on slots. If more mid slots, go SH, if more lower slots go armor, but then im still a noob, hehe.

As a general rule of thumb, yes.
But of course with 4 mids and 6 lows you are not limited to armor tank.
- 6 slot armor tank / mids with mwd,web,etc - 4 slot armor tank + 2 slots gank / mids with mwd,web,etc - 4 slot shield tank / lows with gank
It is really personal preference and there are situations in which either of these setups can provide an edge over the other ones. You have to figure that out yourself. Only in very rare cases is there a single best fitting that works always.
