I never see a good item to purchase with my LP
Just an example: why should i take an implant that would cost me 10k LP + 10 millions isk ...while he is worth just 3 millions on the market!!!
This is just an example, but i really think that rewards are dumb.

Yeah, the LP store principle is quite broken atm.
This is because the goods on offer are also entering the game from chance-based sources like mission rewards, where there is no ISK cost (ISK sink) to the player.
The base rates set by the LP stores is meaningless when demand for the items is being oversupplied and everyone who gets an item "for nothing" figures they'll get whatever they can for it on the market.
Hopefully, CCP will tighten chance-based sources up soon, when they catch on to this issue more fully.

I think they should buff the Fleet Tempest so the top of the line ship for the Minnie Republic is something people actually WANT.
It only costs about 400 mill today (on the market) which makes it the lowest priced faction ship of them all I think. Gallente pilots love their Vindi for good reasons.

Fleet Tempest is good at PvE I guess, but the Maelstrom is so much better tbh.
Faction fitted Meal > Fleet Tempest.
Fleet Tempest would be better if, like the navy raven, it gained a turret point instead of a slot.
So something like; 8-6-5, 7 turret points.
Would give it something over the Mach at least then, at the same time.
But I agree with the OP, LP market sucks because of the stupid ammount of tags I need. I havent had 1 gallente navy mission in the whole week I've been doing missions. How I am meant to get the tags without buying them. Personally the only thing the LP store should be asking for is LOYALTY POINTS, as the 'LP Store' hints.
It costs like 100M+ to get the tags for CN Heavy Missile Launchers...wtf is that about?

According to rumors on the mission forums, level 3 missions give a lot more tags than level 4. Infact, it is stated that the only reaons you should be running level 3's is if you want standings to get to level 4 or you want tags.

Remove the need for tags, stop certain implants from dropping (+5 market is rather static cus they don't drop as often as +3).
Give millitary intelligence LP stores snake implants. ______________________________ A Request About Lag Discussion |

Thats true. And I guess I should be thankful minnie have the Machariel. But still, its too bad that one is really good and one is really crap.
The faction ships are supposed to be really good, and once they were. But since the tech 2 standardization and the tier 3 battleships, Im quite far from impressed with all of their abilities to be honest. In particular the Fleet Tempest. 6:th med slot or 7:th turret? Ill go with the 7:th turret any day.

Remove all them stupid skill hardwirings from the freaking LP store. Sell them at fixed prices through the NPC manufacturers. All I want from the LP store is Ships, Modules, Ammo and Attribute enhancers.
I do beleive most of us agree with this.

Yeah the LP store is pretty weak.
Big long list of hardwirings, most of which aren't worth it, and what else? A navy caracal, navy raven, and some modules that require a stupid amount of tags to get? It's almost like it was better before.

There's no point in blaming players for oversupply when 'production' is not 100% player controlled.
If LP store items are being handed out for 'free' by storyline agents, or dropping from rats and structures, players don't get to make a choice about which item is most profitable to 'produce' from the LP store - the market's saturated before they get there.

Yeah, some the LP items are obscenely expensive given their LP cost. I can see not wanting to give out +5s left and right but I'd rather see a higher LP costs than a small LP cost and then all the money I'd make doing the necessary missions.

honestly, I don't mind the LP store. Only thing I would like to see is a bit more items at the higher end of the LP cost, and a few more LP store only items.
Right now, some of th best items are the faction ammo, since it is very finite, and the KLP store is the best place to buy them.
Some new faction ships would be nice, Faction Destroyer/BC would be nice. Faction implants could also work, much like faction implants, so CNR implants = Crystal implants. Maybe higher print runs for faction mods, and have the tag cost reduced for some (700 tags for 5 mods is kinda a lot)

I like the LP store. Some items are a bit silly priced though. 5% extra damage to all guns is a lot more valuable than 5% afterburner speed for example. The LP store doesnt take the demand into consideration when pricing the stuff.

Since day 1 of the LP store I've always thought it should be dynamic:-
10 items or less claimed in 24 hrs, price drops by 10%. 50 items or more claimed in 24 hrs, price increases by 10%. 11-49 items claimed in 24 hrs, price stays static.
This way rewards will find their own level, and the market shouldn't become flooded with the lower cost items. Things like nexus chips will go up in LP cost until they are nearer to what people are trying to sell them for now.

Edited by: Hypo Psycho on 18/08/2007 11:42:53 i have to say that the LP store is expensive having to have all those tags and LP's for an item and on top of it all still have to pay ISK
seems a little unbalanced atm, sure the item is always there and for sale so its at your fingertips when you want it but after the long slog to get the item its just a big let down
my suggestion is greatly reduce the ISK cost while adding slightly more LP cost
you get charged loyalty points and tags as proof you have done the missions and are thus rewarded for your efforts the ISK cost is more a postage and packing fee, the larger the item the more ISK involved
this would leave the pilots that want the item "now" having to buy the tags or the item from market, leaving the others to slog through missions and actually come out the other side better off

i like the LP store, mainley because i have a minor addiction to faction ammo... but those 1% gunnery implants for example... what the **** is 1% going to do for me?! sure i can see how haveing a whole set of em might add up to... oooh! 5% more damage *mabey* OR for the same price i could just add a rig that does axactley the same, they most definateley need looking at as from my pov they are absoluteley useless. -

The 1% implants are good for PVP jump clones. They are cheap enough that I can put them in on clones that are likely to get bubbled and podded.

Cheep they may be but i still argue that they are rather useless, for example:
On a fully T2 and max skilled Maelstrom setup your looking at 1082 DPS under optimal conditions. (not counting the 'lucky' hits such as perfect strikes, wrecking shots etc) With the Eifyr and co 'gunslinger' CX-0 implant with its 1% bonus to all turret damage, that will increase your 1082 DPS to 1091, a whole 9 extra DPS... excuse me if i don't say "woo"
Or a ratting domi as anouther example... with max skills and a full rack of cap recharger II's you'd get an optimal recharge of +76.1 cap a second. With a Inherent implants 'Squire' CC2 implant, that would boost recharge to 76.7, an increase of 0.6 cap per second, i'm really not seeing how thats going to help -

Doesnt really work that way since they take up the same slots. You cant get 5 1% damage implants.

Good point, shows how much i look at the skill hardwireing implants really i assumed that there may be for example a all turrets damage mod implant for one slot, a hybrid turret damage implent for anouther slot, and a ROF bonus one for a 3rd slot, ah well.
Just kinda reinforces the thought that some of them are indeed a bit on the useless side imho. -

As I pointed out more than once, in Oveur original blog before the implementation of the LP store it was stated it was a Quote: isk sink
so I dubt that will ever be changed.
I can accept that, as essentially the LP we pay can be seen as a discount for the true cost of the item. Essentially, as we are loyal servant of >insert corp name> we get the items at a lower price than the open market.
The problem are the tags. Those where balanced witht he idea of Faction wars and a good influx of empire tags. Currently the factions wars have been moved after rev 3.0 so the supposed influx of relatively common tags don't exist, while the cost are geared for that.
So the stores require some serious work both for the pirate/lesser factions and for the tags cost.
