Lost a ship 30+ hours ago to desynch, petitioned and havent had a response. I'm starting to get pretty upset. When I petition an ISK seller, or something of the like it's responded to in minutes. When something I could actually use some GM'ing on occurs no response.

If it was a very large battle, keep in mind that the GMs are probably swamped with reinbursement petitions from that battle and desnyc losses. That being said, I don't think GMs are consistently giving ships lost to desync back, so I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you. ------------ Whiners - Unite! Well the answer is that if you desync and petition, there's at least a small chance you'll get the ship back.
With the ISK seller/farmer, the chance they'll actually do something about it is practically zero.

Isk sales are very high priority. Not everything can be responded too that fast, then what would be the point of having priorities?

Well, I was in a system in middle of no where syndicate, with a corp mate. Another corpie the next system over desynched a minute later(no ship loss though). The loss was to a rat.
And I know they dont reimburse 100% of the time. Which is fine, because at least they'd be answering me.

This.
About a week is average, or so I understand.
Your best bet is to treat the desynch as any other loss and just spend the insurance on a new ship. If you have a week to wait around for a new ship that might not even come back to you, then petitioning is appropriate.

If you get a GM that just got lucky between the sheets, you might have a 1 in a million chance of being reimbursed. Expect the outcome to be extremely disappointing.

30 hours? I've had a reimbursement petition in for a non-combat issue relating to POS for 10 days and counting with no response. The problem occured again this week and I'm down five billion isk. My business is facing the possibility of future closure because of this bug.

Last time i petitioned a desynch in empire during a level 4 in a moderately busy system nothing outrageous, but hit a massive lag spike loop took 18 hours to get a response or so.
Can try deleting and repetitioning.

Now, I haven't experienced desync or bad lag in this game but I have elsewhere. What I don't understand is, why would they refund whatever it is you lost if you lost it due to lag? I haven't seen any online game EVER refund anything due to lag. I know you lost some expensive stuff and for that I give you my sympathy, but I do believe that refunding stuff is not the solution. They need to just fix the problem for crying out loud to be quite honest.

Lag is a 2-way street, and because the other guy got a better connection to compensate shouldn't mean that the one on dial-up gets his ship back after losing it. Desyinc-ing however, I have no idea, as it's never even happened to me. I have lost a ship due to an overview glitch showing someone as red, but of course their logs won't show **** that matters. Sometimes we have to stop *****ing and play the game, despite its' server-wide flaws. Take it or leave it, EVE is one of the very few MMOs that offer an unsharded realm and it is easily one of the best things about the game. When they were making it, I doubt they considered that there'd be 800 ships all facing off at once in a single system, give the devs some credit for even managing 20+K members on a single cluster at 1 time, not like that "WoW" with it's 5K realms, and even there they can have problems with 40vs40, or so I hear. ------

With what, their Magic Wand of Fixing? They don't have one, and a good chunk of the CCP staff (web cell in particular) is running themselves ragged trying to figure out WTF is up with all the desynchs lately. They've got leads, and they're working on them, but expecting them to 'just fix the problem' automagically does not work. They can't just throw 50 programmers at it and have it automagically fixed. It doesn't work that way, we only wish it did.
They refund the ships/mods/etc. lost to lag because those ships are your livelihood quite often. Losing your best ships in eve hurts. You don't just make a corpse run back to your body and go get your armor fixed, you're out a ship (expensive), mods (more expensive) and time to go get it all back to functional(most expensive). -------------------------------------------------- ICE Blueprint Sales |

god i love people that say shut up stop whining, :P.
when its server side massive lag that makes you loose 300+ million worth of gear and ships due to the hamster they got powering the server dying of a heart attack they can look it up in the logs and see it, therefore they can look into every incident and see if it was the server if so they should refund that stuff not tell you tough luck dont play if you cant afford to loose it.
how many people would bother to play if especially after patches the server goes wonky has random lag and desynch spikes or other wierdness that goes on especially immediately following patches for weeks until they fix the bugs and errors in the server/client code that cause these issues.
eve is much harsher than other mmos where you dont loose all your gear or any gear at all so to their credit they do take server side lag pretty seriously and recognize that they would loose players if it is indeed their bad when you are talking 100s of millions of isk due to a server hiccup.
or maybe you big shots that like to tell people too bad so sad get over it want to personally reimburse players for their losses caused server side.

For the three reimbursement petitions i have filed here is what I've seen.
first petitions 2 months or so.
second petition 1 day <was denied i did the jump to a jumpclone in the same station idiocy, for some reason i didnt understand the warning properly, oh well goodbye +4's>
third 3 weeks.
However all of the petitions were lag related, and not during a pvp encounter.
