A new study conducted by Nottingham Trent University has found that one in 10 players who regularly play online games start a physical relationship with a fellow gamer, and most make good friends while playing.
Here is the original press release by Nottingham Trent University:
Online gamers meet life-long friends and partners in virtual worlds
An article in the Sydney Morning Herald explores this issue in depth and gives examples:
Diehard gamers find love online
Eve Online's curent player population is 95% male. Once ambultation is introduced, more women will be attracted to playing Eve Online:
Hilmar Petursson's research suggests ambultation will attract women to Eve Online

No. Since I already have a 90% chance of that occuring, it will be less. This new feature works like shield hardeners. You only get 10% of whats left. Therefore, it only increases my chance to 91%.
Not to mention stacking nerf... I have a bunch of other characteristics that already increase it, such as good looks, etc, which means the bonus is even less.
I cry foul on this new patch. -------------- Posting Efficiency / Rank 1 / SP: 10 of 25 | |

The OP was referring to men having a greater chance of having sex with *women*, not other men. In your case, I'm sure your odds won't improve the projected 10%, but not due to a stacking effect.

Seriously:
I met my current GF of 6 years online, so I dont see this chance as 10%.
Then again, I could have been quite lucky back then.
Oh yeah, they REALLY should offer complete avatar (and if possible, name) changes for free when Ambulation kicks in. -

Those findings just don't appeal to me for some reason

I wonder how that equation treats people who are already getting some? - The game is not the problem. The problem is that you are not adapting to the game.

But given that only around 10% of the Eve population is female, and assuming that the vast majority of relationships formed will be hetrosexual, that means that female Eve players have around a 50% chance of getting laid and male gamers only 4.5%

Hmmm....
I'd be extremely sceptical of anything from a University that gave Ken Clarke (noted Nottingham fat man, tory leadership candidate and tobacco-flogging scumbag) an honorary degree.
Also, the people I associate with online are the likes of Butternut Squash, Phoenicia and all the old Lunar Dawn rabble; believe me, the last thing in the universe I would want is a 10% chance of a physical relationship with any of them
