I'm sure there has to be more to Elite Frigates than just a bunch of Interceptors, is there? Things like Bombers maybe? More capable EW frigates? Something like a Rifter II, Punisher II or Merlin II?

Interceptors are just one category. There are others. I think two per reach frigate model.
For example, the Condor is the base model of the interceptor elite frigates. Kestrel is the base model of the bombers, which I imagine will come in two flavors as well.

Bombers and Gunships are 2 other types of elite frigates due out.

Don't forget Special Ops. These are the ones that are able to cloak.

No Gallente Ships? u know TomB will change teh EW specs sooon xDD so all the caladri ships will looose against Gallente when it comes to EW warfare! so QQ all Calarians!!!

Ships dont have tech levels, so there wont be Merlin II's or Kestrel II's.

Yes.. there will be other "elite frigates"
the current interceptors are based off the "small fast" existing frigates.
there will be assult frigates (based of the merlin, punisher, rifter, tristan)
bomber frigates, covert op frigates, and even mining frigates.

There are "elite" versions of the light combat frigates (condor, slasher, atron, executioner), the EW frigates (griffon, vigil, maulus, crucifier), the heavy combat frigate (merlin/kestral, rifter, tristan, punisher/inquisitor(?)) and also the "utility" frigate (bantam, probe, imicus, tormentor(?) ).
The light combat varients are the Interceptors.
The EW variants will be the Special Ops ships.
The heavy combat variants will be Bombers and Gunships.

To build a Elite Frigate one has to have the skill "Frigate Construction". The only way to get it now is through character creation. Now, I know somebody who has a blueprint of a Elite Frigate but that somebody can't build the bloody thing because he/she/it does not have that skill. To start a new character is one way to get that skill but that'll put production back two months. Now if that skill was available.... I'd say them frigates would be somewhat expensive. I know this has little or nothing to do with initial topic but I get paid for ranting. You people reckon Frigate Construction and Interceptor skills are coming or do we all have to wait??? What time is it. Whoah that late. Think I'll take a bath.

Now the other question is, if it took them that long just to introduce interceptors, how long do we expect to get gunships, bombers, and special ops ships?
Then I can expect that this cycle to fall on cruisers (destroyers, battlecruisers?) before we get to battleships (dreadnaughts)? But have we seen the Imperial edition of the Apocalypse and the Armaggedon already?
Where does the Gold and Silver Magnates fit in? The Luxury Yacht? The Jovian frigates (the one that looks like an Angel Impaler for example).
And can we still have dedicated miners please? (New indy classes perhaps based on existing hull-models that can fit multiple mining turrets).

I seems strange that it has shorter targeting range than the Kestrel and uses ladar for target acquisition 
According to eve-db, there's also the "Nighthawk" with 6 launchers, but then again it's a caldari gunship using a rifter hull and ladar targeting, so it doesn't say much I guess  .

I only care about the Covert Ops and Interceptor frigates. The rest of you can have the Assault, Bomber and DCM variants.
