Every week in the Warp Drive Active PodCast Winterblink (The Canadian) and Urban Mongral (the Brit) will bring you the goings on in EVE (except for the stuff we miss, forget or deliberately ignore).
Warp Drive Active Podcast is part of the VirginWorlds Podcast Collective
Click here to listen/download Episode 7
Urban is wracked with guilty about some advice he gave to his his friends at the Comutiny podcast, While Winterblink watches IAC's utterly futile attack in 49U.
Tyraxx Thorrk swipes an Aeon from Evolution. With all the bad news for BOB in the past few weeks, we wonder if they are begining to loose it.
The Goonies celebrate a glorious 14th August, We hope they had CaKe to celebrate.
The player news centre completely ignores any of the real news and publishes a propaganda piece about a bunch guys we have never heard of.
Big changes are happening to they way you fuel a POS. Reinforced mode gets thumped by the nerf bat.
Mineral compression gets a big nerf as well. All is not lost though as CCP unveils the awesomely named Rorqual new capital class mining vessel
We wanted to do a noob guide for starting a corporation, but frankly we know nothing about how to. Thankfully Crovan is on hand to give all the details.
For homework this week Urban sets something really awsome which everyone should check out. Unfortunatly I can't post the link to it here though
Beyond that, just the usual getting sidetrackage, gibbering and tinfoil hattery.

I'm going to have to nit pick, I know how much Urban likes it when people do this, but I think your getting the Rorqual confused with the Sleipnr (as made famous by Eve tv). Sleipnir is Odin (not Thor's) horse. Rorqual is a name for Whales (the largest mammals on earth), according to wikipedia Rorqual takes its name from Norwegian but is not mythological in nature.
Minmatar capital ships are generally named after Norse mythology (Hel, Ragnarok, Muninn, Hugninn, Nidhoggur, Naglfar) etc.

I can confirm that listening to the WDA podcast does absolutely nothing to improve your Hearts game.

Edited by: Phu Bar on 20/08/2007 15:56:32 Hey Urban / Winter,
Great job on the podcast, been listening for a few weeks and it makes my Monday morning commute a bit more tolerable. :).
Urban, on a previous podcast you mentioned another virginworlds podcast that summarized the tools, etc used to make a podcast (disclaimer: I am in no way interested in creating an eve podcast - I enjoy yours and do not have the time or level of commitment required - I am simply curious about the tools). I can't seem to find the podcast on the virginworlds site - can you point me in the right direction ?
Cheers and keep up the good work,
Phu

Thanks for clearing that up - EVETV (and anyone else I've insulted for that matter) please feel free to ridicule me over this.
You must admit the Rorqual does look a bit like a minmatar ship though (Unfinished pile of scaffolding).
Personally I still think it sounds more like a mexican wrestler though! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rorqual is from the scienctific name for a type of large whales including the blue whale.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rorqual
It is from the Norwerian r÷yrkval which means furrow whale. They have furrows running from their mouth to their navel. This allows them to open their mouth even wider, which is quite a a thing for a blue whale. Truth is Truth |

I shall review your material and submit my comments at a later date. Please provide me with ample time to review said material, and write a suitable essay on them. Have a nice day.
This may or may not make my commune to and from my daily place of attendance more enjoyable.

Just out of interest, how am I meant to provide you with extra comment writing time?
Speeding you up to nearly the speed of light to create some sort of relativistic time dilation effect perhaps? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

That'd give us more time.
So, what you need to do is speed everyone else up to nearly lightspeed .

I think that was a Good ThingÖ. If the news would only be about whatever the big alliances are doing, what incentive do players outside of those have to do anything? Im quite tired of hearing about BoB and the goons personally. To someone like me that is outside alliance politics, Id rather hear about new people now and again.
And because im outside alliance politics, I dont really know what you mean with "propaganda" either.
